Right on the heels of my freestyle drum mode idea (built in electronic drum set ftw!) I think there should also be an optional usb strobe light peripheral. Just because. That would be sweet. Sync'd up to the game it would make rocking out that much more seizure causing. Anyone agree?

I like your freestyle drum idea, this one...not so much. ;)

lol, I mentioned this somewhere a while back (probably the "ideas for rock band" thread). I think it'd be awesome!

The actual flashing light in the game are all run by a simple series of events, it'd be so good if you could get a USB strobe to tap into those event cues. Chances are it won't happen, but I'm definitely going to buy a strobe that flashes to the beat (or loud sounds) when RB comes out.

can we get a dry ice/smoke machine peripheral as well?

Don't tempt me!!

I was already looking up prices the other day. I'm thinking I might have a Rock Band party about a week after I get the game, invite over about 20 people and have a crazy rock orgy, lol... Due to the high price of smoke machines I'd probably just hire one... my sister already has a mirror ball, and we have some crappy moving coloured lights, plus I'm gonna buy a strobe. It'll be awesome.

Anyone on this forum from South Australia is welcome to come... surely I'm not the only Adelaidian here?

ya that would be nice if the strobe lights matched the effects on the t.v.

Pyro Kit would be better.

I dunno how well pyrotechnics would go in my house, I can touch the ceiling just by stretching my arm in the air. Perhaps I could take the safer (but kinda messier) option of filling air canons with shiny confetti, lol

mmm pyrotechnics is a bit much, just whip out a couple of party poppers instead or something. Well, i think ill get strobe lighting, a smoke machine and get a massive PA system and deafen the neighbours.

How about everyone just trashes your room afterwards? That'd be much more "rock" than some oversized sparklers.

Yeah, but I'm gonna be too hungover to want to do any kinda of tidying... maybe the strobe will be enough, lol.

I still love this thread purely for the fact that I'm not the only one that had the crazy idea of making a USB strobe light that uses software specifically for Rock Band

This thread gives me so many ideas on how to do a lame music video for my real bands, lol.

Not just music videos. Think about doing a live gig, just in a small venue. Each band member would walk out with RB peripherals and behind you the RB is projecting onto a big screen. All the characters are designed to like like the people in the actual band. The first song starts playing and you all play along with your RB instruments having the song memorized of course.

Then bring out the real instruments for the rest of the songs... I would be in complete awe if i ever saw a band do that.... Just need the software to make your own charts first, lol.

I wish they would've done that at the ZZ Top concert....

Hmm, now that I think about it, I can't even remember what song they opened with.

Anyway, to stay on topic, I think it would be cool, but... I... well... hell, no reason why it wouldn't be apart from seizures, mind you.
