Drum set problem

my rock band 2 drumset is officialy ****ed up!!

i was playing And Justice For All about 10 minutes ago and mid song i failed for no reason i though hell i probably just stopped playing without realizing it so i started again during the intro the pads were hitting themselves!!!! has anyone else ever encountered this or know a way to fix it please help!!

Try changing the batteries, maybe one of them burst.

did you try disconnecting the controller and/or changing batteries, or rebooting the console and whatnot?

also, define 'playing themselves'
coming here screaming the very second something goes wrong without testing some things yourself or a more accurate description than "it doesnt work" isnt really helpful.

ok well i changed the batteries and it worked...for a little while i played and justice for all failed battery (as usual) then HALF of chop suey and the pads stopped playing for a second even though i was hitting them no contact and i was on rythym and everything i even got a drum fill and nothing so now they just plain dont work and the batterys are not dead they are brand new

and playing themselves means that the pads start hitting themselves in the game all randomly messing me up

Are you looking for technical support? If so, you're in the wrong forum.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere to me. Seems like you finally troubleshot it to that point. Is it all pads that are "hitting themselves", or just one? Is there any sort of rhythm to it?

its all of them and its completely random but its not doing that anymore now theyre just not working no matter what

anyways ive played and justice for all at 6 somethin in the morning every day for the past 4 months and it has never not once done this im about to go and see if its fixed but i extremely doubt it. im about to just use the freakin warranty and get it done with.

I don't think you understand. This is the Rock Band forums. For most of us, Rock Band is our world. Thus, a broken drum kit is the end of the world.

I guess I've been lucky, though. I'm still using my launch day RB1 drum kit. I've been playing expert for the last nine months with it and have had no problems other than a rare dropped note every now and again. Sucks to hear there's been so many problems with the RB2 sets. Guess I'll have to save up for the Ion. :D

I ended up doing a madcap drive on christmas eve to try and get to the shop to buy a replacement RB1 drumkit after my yellow pad died,,, there was no way I was going through Christmas day without my drums with ACDC under the tree for me!

To your point.

These are the Rockband Forums.

We are the 5%ers. 95%of the world has no problems at all.

Around here we eat drums and melt strats daily.

In my opinion, your first broken drum set is an indicator that you should either get better gear, learn how to work on your existing gear, ot stick to vocals. ;)

After reading through all of these...

If it's just one pad repeatedly malfunctioning, then RMA the kit. If it's all of the pads randomly "going off" then I would suggest that, seeing as you rebooted, and changed batteries already, it may be outside interference.

I've had it happen before, albeit rarely.

My suggestion, if it happens again, change controller setting and try again.

It's to the point where there's so much stuff on the 2.4ghz band that its a surprise that it doesn't happen more often.
