my rock band 2 drum set just died basically its killing itself by failing me!!

i went in about 10 minutes ago to play And Justice For All like i always do to warm up before i play anything else and mid song i fail i thought maybe i just stopped my foot without realizing it so i started over and duirng the intro THE PADS WERE HITTING THEMSELVES!!! WHAT THE ****!! somebody help has anyone else had this happen!
