PS3 Rock Band 2 GHWT Instruments Question

Sorry for another thread on this subject, but I'm new here. I've always been a Guitar Hero guy so I got the GHWT bundle for Christmas. For fun I asked for RB 2 only to find out the two don't work together. I heard about this ver 1.01 update. I took the game to my brothers house who is online and has the rock band intruments. We did the software update thinking that would fix the disk and corrct my problem at home with my GHWT intruments, then we played a while on his intruments. Well I've found that there are certian aspects to this game I like a whole lot more than GH and I want this game in my life. But my GHWT drums still don't work (guitar and mic are fine). My question is do I have to be online on the playstation network at home and then update the disk or am I just out of luck. Sorry for the long first post but I wanted to fully explain what I've got going on. Thanks for any help.

Of course your PS3 has to be online and download the update to the HDD. The disc isn't fixed, a PS3 can't burn updates to blu-ray discs.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured I was an idiot and I was right. So I don't need to try and sell the game I can just hold on to it until I'm online and get the update then? Sorry for the stupid questions...I'm a long term casual gamer and haven't caught on to a lot of online stuff yet.

All you need to do is to get your PS3 online once. You could take it to your brother and download the update.
