I could not resist. He he he...
Just the game though. The soundtrack looks good, and I wanted some crazy stupid hard fun I guess. Has anyone else bought GH:WT and Rock Band 2?

P.S. Not a troll, not a bashing thread. Just wanted to know what are the aspects that shine in GH:WT and Rock Band 2.

Hard fun, GHWT seems alot looser with the timing windows.

I have them both. I enjoy them both for much the same reasons: They have fun songs and charts.

WT on guitar isn't that hard if you're a reasonably competent expert player. Sure, some songs in the last two tiers will give you trouble, but it's mostly smooth sailing. Bass has about the same number of tricky songs as guitar, but it's still pretty easy to get through that career with the exception of BYOB.

Activision's probably gonna charge you for GHTunes, which is one of the only reasons I'd even think of buying WT(other reason being Shiver).

I played GH:WT for the first time two days ago, and I definitely enjoy the songs. I don't like the interface, or the guitar. Oh well, i'm gonna buy it. I can use my RB guitar, and i'll just have to live with the interface.

Hope you're not dissapointed, since you don't get much "Stupid Hard" songs with GH:WT outside of Hendrix.

Is the timing window on drums as forgiving as the guitar one?

I think so, Someguy made mention of the timing window when he FC'd BYOB on GHWT, he wouldn't have if it wasn't forgiving.

GHTunes was a letdown. They sound like midi crap,

I actually think that GH:WT guitar is A LOT harder than GH3 guitar. I play on expert in gh3 but I had to move down to hard for WT.

idk if i'm just crazy or what

i bought guitar hero world tour a week ago. A lot better then I thought and I LOVE the drum set. I find rock band and guitar hero equal in the fun department

Expert guitar on GHWT is nowhere near as hard as GH3 (or even RB2 for that matter). The "purple line solos" make it ridiculously easy, and you don't even have to use the touch-strip on the Generi-caster. I play with the GH3 Les Paul and I can just HO/PO when the purple-line solos come in, there's no strumming required to get back in the groove either, just keep tapping...makes it ridiculously easy.

The only song I failed the first time through was "Satch Boogie", and that's cause the guitar solo towards the end totally caught me off guard.

When I get it of course. Maybe even more.

Wasn't it a better version of the N64 one?

Nope, Coldplay is in the disc.

The sad thing is, my GHII 360 guitar strum broke, you know anywhere were I could do a DIY fix it?

Eh, not really. I mean, you might be able to find something on YouTube, but I'm sure there's something out there for a DIY repair on an Xplorer.

I totally agree with you, and that rather ruined GHWT for me.

On another GHWT note...does anyone prefer the GHWT drum set over the RB2 drum set, and is it compatible with RB2?

I don't play it much.. because I got the whole soundtrack on my ipod.

what the game DID do for me was introduce The Enemy, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Living End etc.
AND caused me to buy the now Rise Against CD, I now own their discography.
