Imported Rock Band - Alt picking issues

So I imported Rock Band to the UK and luckily the drums work perfectly, as does the microphone. But as would be expected at this point, the guitar seems to have some strum bar issues.

But it doesn't seem to be the same issues anybody else is having at the moment. My guitar registers down and up strums, but if I start downstrumming very quickly in a row, or alt picking anything, it stops registering hits and I miss notes. Similar to how the faulty drum sets were failing to recognise hits when you get to a certain speed of playing.

Since I'm not covered by warranty, I went ahead and opened up my guitar to try the paper trick, which seems to have changed absolutely NOTHING performance wise.

What's wrong with it, as far as I can tell, is that it's not registering that there's another strum quickly enough. So i guess I could mess around with the little bars ala the paper trick. I noticed that when I started downstrumming really quickly in a row that the connector wasn't even leaving the other connector, which I guess would explain why it doesn't register another hit. But how can I fix that? Get them just at the right angle?

Is there some trick I could try?

There are a few other things posted on the forums. Using little rubber bands from braises, adding more foam, filling little prongs. Have a look around for them and see if any would fix ur problem.

I'm importing the game too, I live in australia and should be getting the bundle late next week. I'm probably going to have the same problem as well. I have already sent EA an e-mail about my warrenty and yeah, i cant get any help because im not in the US.

I think after work today I'll open the guitar again and add some rubber bands, see if that does anything. Then I'll just try whatever other methods I find, since I'm not covered by warranty what's the harm.

Keep us updated. I'm importer too, and I'm getting the game someday this week. (Although I have to wait for my US Xbox until next week probably)

But if I have guitar issues I'll look in here again. :p

I just hope the drums work. I can play with the XPlorer if the guitar makes problems, but if the drums aren't working... I'm ****ed.
