How to tape the drum heads??

My drums dont respond to every hit.

I saw videos and heard about people taping the drums to fix it momentarily while EA
sends us our new ones..

Does anyone know how to officialy do this?
Id like to actually see how good i am at this game, instead of having some botched score
due to crappy hardware.
