Ok i have seen many posts about this but none of them seem to match my problem too much so here I go.
I have the same PS3 that i bought the DLC from the store with, no new HDD or any kind of after market work, and the same PSN id that i have always had. I bought DLC for the first Rockband and it all worked offline. During this time I lost high speed internet so the System was only updated through the new games that i purchased and played. I got Rockband 2 when it came out and the DLC I had worked great with Rockband 2 without internet connection. About a week ago i fianllly got to connect my same PS3 with same PSN id tat my moms house and updated Rockband 1 and 2 and got my 20 free DLC and bought about 3 more. I installed them and they worked great. I then turned off my PS3 and disconected the internet and took it home. Now at home with the same HDD and User the only one on the PS3 it gives me the error:
"the song data you were accessing has become unavailable, and the game cannot proceed without it. Your game session has restarted." Can anyone help with this. I read on a few posts that it works if you delete the game data from the HDD but i would hate to do that as I created my player and customized and most of all unlocked all songs without cheats. If i were to delete the game data, i assume it would get rid of these acomplishments.

I've had this happen to me. I had three PSN ID accounts on my PS3 (One to play under for accomplishments and making multiple contacts, and the other two to sign in as when there was high sign-on/sign-off traffic causing annoying lag hiccups), and had purchased a handful of DLC under my least used ID (4 or 5 tracks at most).
At some point I deleted that infrequently used account, and I kept getting the same error you've encountered when trying to play those songs. (it took FOREVER to figure it out, but once I did, I was 100% sure that's what caused the problem, because every problem song released in the short time frame I actually used that account)
I'm not sure exactly how the problem came to be (as in why deleting that account "removed" the DLC files from my HDD even though there were still technically there), but the only way to fix it was to create another PSN ID with the same email address used and re-download the DLC. In order to do that, just login to the PS store, select "downloads" from the top of the screen, and re-download the selected files.
If you haven't deleted any accounts of any sort, re-downloading the DLC should fix the problem right away.

yeah, i also get the same error message and figure out that some how the data i needed was on my old account, however, there is one slight problem; i forgot my account...and made up email...and password. is their any way to find my account information through my credit history? because i REALLY don't want to rebuy a $100's worth of songs.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DOOO!!!!!

I have the same thing but, I'm still using the same account I always have. I did reset my PS3 settings on accident on day. That's when it started happening.

If you're signing in to the account that originally bought the dlc, you could try deactivating then activating it. This has helped some people, others not so much.

so I get that error msg as well "song has become unavailable" - my old PS3 just died over Xmas so I bought a new SLIM. I used the new data transfer utility to get my IDs and DLC/saved game data over to the SLIM. Everything looked to work just fine, I played a few songs but they must have been from the original RB2 game because when I went to make a playlist, I chose all DLC or RB1 songs and got that error msg. I am using the same ID/PSN login as the one used for when I bought the DLC. The only difference is that I am now using a new PS3 since my old one died. What can I do??? I've got A LOT of songs that I purchased and I dont want to purchase them again (i wont) and i dont even want to re-download them as that will take forever! (but i will if that is my abolute only option). There must be a fix for this as there have been MANY MANY people losing their PS3 from what i have been seeing on forums. HELP!!!!!

This has helped some people, others not so much. This worked for me after I upgraded with a new HDD. It also let me use all the DLC games I'd dled off other accounts again, so thanx a mil. for turning me onto it. I never woulda thought of that on my own and I was starting to panic.

This is caused by the clock being affected by a bug in the leap year calculation...
Here is Sony's Twitter page... THey are working on a fix as we speak.... I hope...
They say its only effecting the older pre-Slim models.... (Which mine is)

Here is another link about it... http://www.neoseeker.com/news/13244-pre-slim-ps3-units-experiencing-8001050f-error/

This issue isnt just for ps3, xbox360 also suffers from it.
Before anyone says content licence, my system dosnt need that and most of my dlc will play offline but anything I bought latly will not play offline and gives the same error you guys are getting. I think something broke in there latest patch and Ill hold off buying any more dlc till its fixed since I have to hog my xbox downstairs to the main connection to play.
