Drum headset doesn't work?

Has anyone got the headset working with the drums so you can play and chat
over xbox live like with the guitar? I get no sound at all thru the drum to headset.
Am I doing something wrong?

So far the headset + drums combination hasn't worked for me. At best I got some garbled buzzing through the earpiece, but the person at the far end never heard me. On the other hand, I didn't try all that much.
