I did this for awhile several months ago, I'm doing it again. For the most part I'm trying to only mention bands in RockBand though there will be exceptions to that.

1953 - Hank Williams died of heart failure on the way to a gig. He was 29.

1960 - Johnny Cash played the first of many free concerts behind bars when he entertained the inmates of San Quentin Prison.

1962 - Decca Records turned down The Beatles for a record contract preferring instead to sign Brian Poole and the Tremoloes.

1970 - Jimi Hendix' Band of Gypsy's end the show suddenly in front of 19,000 fans at a peace rally when Hendrix says, "I'm sorry we just can't get it together." It was the bands second perfromance.

1972 - Marc Bolan signs a deal with EMI to release records in the UK on his own T. Rex Wax Co. label.

1972 - Alice Cooper's album Killer reaches #21 cementing the bands success.

1977 - The Clash play the opening night of The Roxy Club in London

1979 - The Cars are voted Best New Band of the Year in Rolling Stone

1990 - WKRL a radio station in Florida plays Stairway To Heaven for 24 hours as a prelude to switching to an all Led Zeppelin format.
