This interview actually revelaed alot about downloadable content (most notably future features to make your own songs) and info about character creation.

The game sounds better and better with each interview I read. I'm glad they plan to make it a very long term game, because I expect to spend a lot of money on it, so I would hope I get a year or two out of it. I'm wondering who all the big name bands they say they have are (besides the ones already announced), hopefully we get to see a few of those at E3.

The idea of putting your own song in the game is an interesting one, I wonder how that would work, it would certainly be fun.

The more they talk about the drums the more excited I get, I love the fact that you basically learn drums from playing drums in this game.

Hmm, nothing new really mentioned in the article. Every big gaming site seems to have pre-E3 previews or Rock Band all with the same info... Gotta wait til next week, RB at E3 will be awesome.

I thought the questions were very good, and this was news to me:

there's actually a custom paint editor in the game, like a 2D paint editor, so you can make custom tattoos and put patches on clothing.

If you have seen the stuff that people have put together for Forza 2, you know this will be amazing.

You can really see the difference in design approaches between Neversoft and Harmonix. Guitar Hero III looks like they will be tacking on stuff that makes no sense in the game, like boss battles.

Rock Band, on the other hand, is focused on tweaking and customizing the existing experience. Freestyle play sections, custom character designs, big jam at the end, everything seems focused on adding more personalization and creativity to a game that is already quite good.

Yeah, GH3 seems to be getting shun more and more. The only way I can see it having a chance against RB is if they pull out the best possible set list. The game looks like it'll be coming out month or so before Rock Band, I spose that will help them a bit too.

"there's actually a custom paint editor in the game, like a 2D paint editor, so you can make custom tattoos and put patches on clothing."

"And another area that we're really interested in is just user-generated content, and eventually we'd like to release tools that will allow people to actually create music of their own to get it into the game world as well."

omg yes

my favorite part:

1UP: So it could potentially be over thousands of songs?

AR: That's our hope, yeah.

most exciting thing I found is how they say they're treating Rock Band like a platform and not just a game.. and how that relates to the future of downloads
