1965 - The Beatles' Story hits #7 in the US

1970 - Sid Vicous' murder trial opened in New York

1971 - Led Zeppelin's The Immigrant Song is #16 in the US

1976 - Fox On The Run from Sweet is #5 in the US and has sold a million copies.

1978 - the single Better By You, Better By Me, a cover, from the forthcoming album from Judas Priest fails to chart.

1978 - Rush gets their first charting single in the UK. Closer To The Heart is #36

1981 - Whitesnake's Live In The Heart of the City is #146 in the US

1981 - Joan Jett & The Blackhearts sign to Boardwalk Records

1982 - The Ghost In The Machine album by The Police sits at #2 in the US for 6 weeks

1983 - Combat Rock becomes The Clash's biggest US album as it hits #7 and 1 million copies sold.

1985 - Def Leppard announce they will not replace drummer Rick Allen despite his losing his left arm 2 days ago and will support him through his recovery. The band return to Holland to continue the recording sessions for Hysteria

1990 - KISS' Hide Your Heart a song originally done by Bonnie Tyler reaches #22 in the US
