I have already payed for both games, why then should I have to pay 5 bucks to transfer the songs that I already have the right to use? (I don't technically own the songs even though I have payed for the game which should give me some ownership of something. I guess I own the plastic case and the plastic the disc is made of.) I believe this is gouging money from the consumer. I also believe this post will be pulled as soon as it is posted.

In times like these, I wish there was an emoticon for a tumbleweed rolling by.

It's only 5 bucks man... And if you played RB1 as much as I did, you would never want to play any of the songs again anyways.

Not much for 50 something songs, and you'll want at least 4 or 5 to play in the future.

I wish people would understand when they are wasting there money on something that should be provided to the consumer for free. I do have the 5 bucks needed to get the key. I have bought some DLC. I have already paid for the right to use the songs on RB1.

The songs in RB1 were licensed for RB1 ONLY. When the plan for exporting the songs for use in RB2 came about, they had to 're-license' them for use in that game, which cost them a little extra, which in turn costs US a little extra too. This is also why three songs don't transfer.. there were issues with re-licensing. Either they couldn't be obtained or too much money was required for re-licensing.. who knows. But like the above poster said.. it's only $5

Funny, I find myself wishing people would stop expecting HMX to turn into a nonprofit.

Why should you get to do it for free when so many of us have already paid 5 dollars? That's a better question.

But on a serious note. Pay 5 bucks to never have to switch discs. It's not like HMX is blocking the use of the RB1 disc or anything. You pay a fee for the convenience of not having to switch discs and to have the RB1 songs included in the RB2 game format.

You've already said you'll just switch discs, so obviously this wasn't a big deal even to you. In spite of feeling the need to dreg up an issue that's been beaten into the ground already.

Were you just bored?

I don't believe everything should be free that is just ridiculous, but the re-licensing issue should not be my problem. I will buy the transfer key tomorrow I just wanted to vent a bit. I realize that Harmonix needs to make money in order to make more games.

There also needs to be more Canadian content in Rockband.such as matt good and OLP.

Also keep in mind that the relicensing fee wasn't just for Rock Band 2, it's for any future Rock Band title that features DLC.

Finally someting we can agree on.

But you went from wanting to start a Coalition to not pay the fee, to switching discs, to now paying the fee. All in the span of 2 pages.

WE GOT A FLIPPY FLOPPA!

;)

So I will not have to buy a new key for Rockband 3, that is good news.

There might be one for exporting Rock Band 2, though they may have also grabbed that from the start.

There you go, I love it when enterprising young people solve their own problems.
