Just stumbled over this link and someone is bound to want a functional guitar. I live in Denmark and if my Stratocaster goes broke, then a link like this is very handy

Also voids your warranty, should you try this and it completely break or you fix it for now and it break later.

The replacement procedure is pretty good--FWIW I'd just send it in.

I'd like to see "pretty good" defined. The process of requesting the replacement is pretty good, but a week later and my tracking number shows that nothing has been shipped. Has anybody actually received any replacement gear??

Yes, I know it was a holiday, but today is Tuesday and it still hasn't moved.

Hmmm..I was pretty impressed with the replacement procedure myself until it became Monday and mine still hasen't shipped (despite being provided a tracking number and a $100 authorization to my credit card). The money isn't a huge deal, but it just gives me little confidence in their procedures when all of the above isn't enough to indicate that it's actually on it's way.

Everyone involved (EA, HMX etc) have a gold mine on their hands if they don't let hardware issues screw things up. So far hardware is slightly screwing things up...

Idk... better than Microsoft's?

The holiday break grinds everything to a halt, including shipping lanes. I'd be concerned if it hasn't left by this week if you did the express replacement, but otherwise it'll probably happen soon.

They've already said that trying to fix your own instruments may result in you being charged for a new one if you then try to return it using the warranty replacement system.
