It's hard to deny that a chorus is an extremely part of most music. Sure, there are many songs, and even entire genre's, that tend to leave them out, but these aren't the majority.

It's also very, very easy to make a catchy chorus. Almost any thing can be made catchy, with the right tone and studio effects... but some are genuinely great. Either funny, well written, or just plain stick out in your head. What are your favorites?

I have many, but one that I haven't been able to get out of my head is the chorus to Pull my Strings by the Dead Kennedy's. I'll list the entire song for reference.

I'm tired of self respect
I can't afford a car
I wanna be a prefab superstar

I wanna be a tool
Don't need no soul
Wanna make big money
Playing rock and roll

I'll make my music boring
I'll play my music slow
I ain't no artist, I'm a business man
No ideas of my own

I won't offend
Or rock the boat
Just sex and drugs
And rock and roll

Drool, drool, drool, drool, drool, drool
My Payola!
Drool, drool, drool, drool, drool, drool
My Payola!

You'll pay ten bucks to see me
On a fifteen foot high stage
Fatass bouncers kick the ****
Out of kids who try to dance

If my friends say
I've lost my guts
I'll laugh and say
That's rock and roll

But there's just one problem

[Chorus]
Is my cock big enough
Is my brain small enough
For you to make me a star
Give me a toot, I'll sell you my soul
Pull my strings and I'll go far

And when I'm rich
And meet Bob Hope
We'll shoot some golf
And shoot some dope

Is my cock big enough?
Is my brain small enough?
[Repeat chorus, etc. etc.]

Why do I like it? I just think it's funny. Sure, it's immature, as I probably am, but the fact that it was played at an award show makes it one of the biggest "middle fingers" of rock.

Keep in mind it doesn't have to be just one. I plan to add more later, but I wanted to start with just one.

The chorus from the song "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd:

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimmin' in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over that same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here

the first that comes to mind is tracy chapman's "fast car"...

I remember we were driving, driving in your car
The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone

Boss Digital Dimension. It's not technically a chorus, it's more of a doubler with slight detuning, but it sounds amazing, especially with an overdrive pedal.

Oh, you mean song choruses. Pretty in Pink's chorus is pretty iconic.

"Echoes" by Pink Floyd. Its chorus is instrumental, yes, but it's got a ****ing awesome riff.

That is the most overrated song ever, I'm sorry.

I always thought the most overrated song ever was I Can't et No Satisfaction.

Even though I don't really like the song, the chorus is pretty damn iconic.

And Satisfaction is arguably known more for it's riff.

Dead kennedys happen to have a lot of catchy choruses. Pull my strings is really funny.

It's got to be Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Poison.
