Hello,

Since i bought my 46" Sharp Aquos LCD TV in June of 08, i have had light, horizontal lines scrolling up the screen whenever i am using my ps3 (during gaming of blu ray playback). Finally today i got around to calling Sharp tech line and the guy was telling me that it was more a problem with the PS3 and the radio waves interfering with the picture quality. It does not happen when i am watching TV through my HD cable box, only when i am watching / playing anything through the PS3. So far we tried:

1). Plugging the tv and Ps3 directly into the wall, bypassing the surge protector. (did not help)

2). Tried annother HDMI cable from the PS3 to the TV. (did not help)

3). Moved the Ps3 as far away from the TV as possible. (did not help)

4). Used the standard AV cables that came with the Ps3, instead of HDMI (did not help)

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? The way i see it, i didnt buy a $2000 TV just to be staring at lines scrolling up my tv when im trying to enjoy a game or bluray. Since i have not seen this problem with ANY other HDTV any of my friends or family have, i am not preparred to just live with it. Im getting a little annoyed because i even paid extra for the 4 year extended warranty from best buy, but they wont even let me use it because im still within my 1 year manufacturers warranty.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Use the manufacturer's warranty instead?

Call back Sharp, tell them you always get these bars, no matter what you're doing, (TV, etc...) and maybe they'll see you differently. Maybe just say that it just started, and its not just my PS3 anymore if they took your information after the first call.

Hooked up the PS3 to another TV today, No lines at all.

Guess I'll be phoning Sharp back tomorrow.

Honestly, This kind of suprises me. I have a feeling this TV and my PS3 are just not going to jive together in harmony. Saying that, this is not something i am willing to put up with. The saga continues..

I have similar problems on my normal CRT TV.

If you can, plug the plug into the same outlet you use normally (The one you use when it's plugged into the sharp TV), and see if the lines are still there. It's got something to do with how the PS3 plug is made that might cause those problems.

Also do you hear a "Buzzing" noise when there's no sound currently on the TV?

hhmmmmm.. Yeah i tried plugging it into the same outlet, but still didnt help any. I actually just noticed that when the PS3 internal fan kicks on, the lines scroll faster. I'm pretty sure it comes down to a ground loop problem which starts with improper wiring in the house (my just built house) which im kinda gutted about, but whatever. Going to Circuit City today to buy a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter which i was told would solve my problem. Im not sure how i feel about running my PS3 with it not being grounded properly, but whatever.
