Has anyone tried plugging in the PS2 singstar mics into their PS3 (or even Xbox)?
I mean, its a mic... and it plugs in via USB... It should work, right?
I cant try it myself coz im an aussie and dont have the game yet... just curious is all.

awesome!!!
EDIT: wait, can it detect 2 mics so you can play multiplayer like that? Or does it combine the signal? If it combines the signal you could do some sweet back up vocals.

If you dont use the rockband mic, how do you do the percussion stuff?? i.e. tamborine, cowbell, etc?

The percussion stuff just happens because it detects a sound, not because there's an impact sensor in the mic. You can trigger those things by doing anything (like beat-boxing) if you were accurate enough.

The Karaoke Revolution mics work as well to from the ps2. Even on the xbox. Its because they are the exact same mics.

Also it's been stated that you can use any usb mic on any system. For example, you could use the rock band 360 mic on the PS3 and vice-versa.
It actually has nothing to do with the mics being identical...but actually because all the mics are standard USB devices. They don't have to conform to the different controller specs between systems (this is why you have to use a controller in addition to the mic in order to navigate the menus).
note: although pretty much any USB mic should work...the ones that are designed for singing should generally work better because they are designed to be more responsive than, say, headset mics where accuracy isn't as important.

I could really use some Singstar Compatibility for the XBox 360!
I brought these thinking because they were sturdier then the Logitech Microphone/Karaoke Revolution....

I have Rockband for ps3. The RB microphone doesn't work well sometimes. So, I bought Singstar for ps2 ( it comes with two microphones ). They are real mic with a usb adapter. I plugged them in my PS3 and with works better than the RB mic. And we can play head to head in multiplayer.
