What are the chances my drums and guitar are defective? I've been really busy, so I haven't had a chance to play on them very much.
The date on the bottom of my Rock Band box was Sept. 27.

Mine was Sept. 28th and my guitar was defective out of the box. The strum bar didn't work. Everything else (all other equipment) is working fine though, no problems.

Not to sound like an nay-sayer, because the cool thing seems to be hating harmonix, but I find if I play my Strat more like a REAL guitar or bass it works just fine. By that I mean, I stopped pressing the strum bar and started strumming it like a string, no double or triple hits anymore.
I think people are playing it a little more rough than harmonix expected, Red Octane knows it has to be sturdy because they've been in the music peripherals business for a long time, they know people like to beat on the things.
But I'm still sending it back because there's some pieces broken inside and my guitar sounds like a maraca.

You will need to replace your guitar probably. I have the same date and my drums were DOA(green pad didn't work). I haven't even played much, waititng for my replacement drums. My guitar has about 2 hours, but i'm sure it will die when I start playing it.
