Hi gang, Fogey shot me a PM and gave me the go ahead to get my round going for his Guiatr Song battle. I'm taking a more traditional approach to my Round of this.
First off I've decided to pick songs that don't get mentioned much in these kinds of things for a variety of reasons, the guitarist in question has a better known "signature" piece, they aren't known for being a virtuoso, they were never a household guitar hero name etc etc. So no "ZOMG!!!111 WTH?! Where's Eruption! You phail at life!!111" from the peanut gallery :p
Second I'm sticking with the more traditional song vs song approach, you pick one or the other. I'll have the poll run for 4 days eliminate the losers, lather, rinse, repeat until there is one left standing that Fogey will incorporate into the finals.
I think it goes without saying please take the time to actuallly give a listen to the songs instead of going with a personal fave or taking the "That guy sucks, no way I'd vote for him" approach. You may be surprised to find someone is a better player than you previously thought.
At any rate the battles will be up before the evening is out.
