So what is fix for double strum (different then no down strum)

i see the easy fix for opening up guitar and fixing the "no down strum" prob.

but

what was the unofficial/official word on what to do if your guitar double strums
(mine double strums up only sometimes...but annoying)

I am curious too. I love the new guitar with the exception that I cannot play single notes without double strumming 50% of the time and ruining a streak. This is sad. The Les Paul works nicely but I like the Strat better..................if it worked right!
