Ever since the patch the Ion Drum Rocker lost it's velocity sensitivity. Please issue another patch to fix it, so I don't feel like I threw away $400.

I have been having the same problem! I thought it was that my ION drum module was broken or something. It's been doing weird things INCLUDING being stuck on "100%" for all velocity sensitive actions.
If this is Harmonix's solution for too-quiet drum fills... I am NOT laughing.

It's not. They stated that the removal of velocity sensitivity for the Ions was unintentional and they're looking into it (no I don't have a link to the thread where they said that). I expect it to get fixed with the next patch, whenever that comes out.

I only had a chance to read a little bit before that. I've subsequently have learned what you state.
P.S. Is Music Store background downloading functioning now that the new Xbox experience is installed or still no?

OK I do apologize for reviving a old thread but I didn't see a reason to start a new one as this thread already discusses the ION velocity issue.
Recently Harmonix released info about the new Rock Band Network.
I will assume this will require a patch so users can uses the new features.
The one question I have (hopefully a HMX rep can answer) is will it include a fix for the velocity issue?
I just bought the ION's a week ago and am loving every thing about them. My gameplay has improved a considerable amount and although the velocity issue is NOT a game breaker I do feel a little "ripped off" as it is a feature described on the ION product and I do not get to take FULL advantage of my $300 drum kit.
I should not have to play the game with out my HDD (also removing my MANY MANY paid for downloaded songs) to get the game to run without the patch so I can get velocity back.
And PLEASE do not take this a a b**ch session or anything. I am more than happy with every aspect of the Rock Band game. Just hoping for a fix is all (it's only been over 6 months since it was broken :D ).

There's a massive patch coming out sometime this summer, with lots of oft-requested features in it. I'd be shocked if it didn't reinstate ION velocity sensitivity.

You say there is a patch this summer and it will ad requested features.
I realize that the patch will most likely be adding support for the new RBN feature but where can I get info on the other "features" being added?

Star tracking (http://www.destructoid.com/gdc-09-rock-band-2-per-song-star-tracking-patch-coming-126537.phtml), Lips microphone support (http://kotaku.com/5196927/lips-mics-will-work-with-metallica-rock-band-2), and a bunch of other things that I can't seem to find right now.
