Thank you, Harmonix! This game beats Guitar Hero in every way. Graphics look really good for wii. I played a demo of the xbox360 version and there no much diffrence. Soundtrack is awesome, but PLEASE get us some DLC soon! Best music game for wii and must buy. Oh and guitar hero sucks

Overall I think RB2 is better than GH World Tour, but that doesn't mean GH "sucks". There are places where both games excel.

I like the RB2 game play much better than GHWT. The set up of going to different cities with the combo of "mystery" and create your own sets along with single song play is fantastic. Challenges thrown in here and there plus battles that are available now and then just add to the fun. Working toward new things you need like a tour van, bus then plane along with various people for hire makes you think about things a little more in order to earn more money and fans at gigs. That gives RB2 a dynamic not found in GHWT.

On the other hand, I like the GHWT controllers much more than the RB controllers. I had RB1 and then played RB2 on my friends XBox (including the new bass) and the feel of the GHWT controllers is much better. Strumming on the RB controller is much harder and tires your thumb out faster plus the buttons make a bunch of clacking sounds and can be sticky at times. I expect the noise from the strum bar, but not the buttons. The drums in GHWT are much more quiet too and larger w/ cymbals already on the kit so it's easier if you're a real drummer to get the feel of the kit.

I think RB2's web interaction is superb. Being able to pull up your characters and take photos of your band, etc. is a great feature. Making t-shirts, bandmates and other promo stuff is another fantastic feature. Groupies are neat on the GH website, but that's about as far as the interaction goes there.

Finally, I like the GHWT character creator much better than RB2. It gives you hats that are put on your hairstyle so you're not stuck with some style you don't want just because you like this or that hat. Also, the girls like having the make-up option. Finally, if you want to change anything about your original character like skin tone, face type, etc. it's possible in GHWT but you're stuck with what you first created in RB2. That alone gives the GH character creator the edge over RB.

Both RB2 & GHWT have good and bad qualities, but overall I think the game play is the most important aspect of the game. I can play RB2 with my GHWT controllers so that's why I think RB2 is the better game overall but GHWT in no way "sucks".

I am completely enamored with RB2 on the Wii. I know I've been a little vocal here in the threads about how hard it is to get a game going, and weird stuff like invites and accepting them and then not getting in after dropping out of a 5 song setlist, but for how much is in this package, those are pretty minor beefs.

I want to find Harmonix and just start giving out hugs until they call security and get a restraining order.

I did, however, run out and buy a GH 3 guitar (turns out they're selling the game AND guitar for $50, and I sold the game on ebay for $40!!!) because I love me some clickin'.

I just can't stand the Guitar Hero art style. CAN'T. STAND. IT.

I know what it comes down to is the notes on the screen and that's all you look at, but when I catch one of those horribly ugly characters out of the corner of my eye BUTCHERING the song, it makes me lose a little bit of faith in the human race. Just a little. Each time.

I agree 100% with Panheads, I got GH:WT first and its was cool and stiil cool, but I was getting bored cu'z of the songs and the DLC wasnt very good atm, so I decided to take a look at RB2, I've never play RB in my life lol, but when I saw the great selection of songs that it has, it got my attention so I bought it then I notice a lot of cool songs that is going to have for DLC. So to tell the truth I always thought GH was better untill I bought RB2, this game has a nice gameplay, graphics isnt that bad and you already know this but if you have the GH:WT instruments theres no need for the RB ones, so I have both games and GH:WT instruments and to tell the truth, this has been the greatest decision I have ever made lol, but like he said, this doesnt mean GH sucks, cuz it doesnt it just that in my opinion, RB2 has taken the lead FTM!

You have to admit the GH guitars are better though. They just seem more responsive and are of better quality. GH isn't bad but RB2 kicks it's a$$.

"Not very good" is still better than none. Especially when "some" was promised.

GHWT instruments offer more button/note combinations (6 each for the drums and bass, plus tap strumming which is awesome). I think this makes the songs harder. I like RB2 a lot more than I thought I would, though, even without DLC. When we finally get it I think it's a virtual tie.

Well I just got rock band 2 for Wii today. Has any one tried to play online yet if so can any one clarify if its free and you just have to pay for the DLC? Im so hyped to play local and online so if anyone could answer my question I would be very grateful.

We will get DLC eventually just sit tight. Might be later this week hopefully at the earliest.

From playing multiple GHs All I can say is this that the GH controller's Strum bar is alot better than that of the RB's Strat controller. But I like the solo buttons of the Strat controller.

Online play is free... in that there are no costs outside of your regular ISP costs.
nothing like xbox live fees or anything like that.

I was really hard on HMX when they released RB1 because I was so disappointed and saw it as a cheap port and thought the Wii was capable of more than that. I do apologize for that.

They have more than made up for it with RB2. They went above and beyond when they added instrument compatibility with GHWT's stuff. Like many others, I can't wait for the back cataglogue of DLC to be made available, I have some Wii points with HMX' name on them already. :)
