View Full Version : Unable to Hear Vocals on XBL

I got on XBL the other night and was rocking out with a few people, but for whatever reason, I could not hear the singer.

Not only during the song, but also when the song was over and we were discussing the performance, choosing new songs, etc.

Anyone know why this might be? We had several different singers and I didn't hear any of them.

One of the other members commented about one of them and said it was a good thing I couldn't hear them.... but still...help please.

To communicate via XBL the singer has to hold something on the controller.

You will not hear the performance of the song because of a little thing called latency (aka lag).

I would agree with that theory, but the other members that I was playing with (guitar/bass and drummer) both said that they could hear the singer.

If they could hear them and I couldn't, could it be something else?

Sean has mentioned that the singer can hold down the trigger button during the song and the rest of the band will hear him. However, due to the internet, everything they say/sing will be several beats late, and thus very annoying.

I haven't done much online quite yet, and I have it for PS3, but as i recall, it was announced that you would not be able to hear the singer due to lag issues. So I was under the impression that there is no option to listen to the human vocalist sing the song, just the game audio (online).

...ah, i didn't even think they'd bother having it activated at all with the lag issue. oh well, guess they did.

It's cool, I don't mind not hearing the singer DURING the song, but I couldn't even hear him when the song was over (in the menu while we were picking a new song).

The other members of the band that I was playing with said they could hear the singer (and they were getting input from the singer about which song to do next). I heard nothing.
