Although right now may not be the best time to post this, because most threads about suggestions to HMX are over-run with the same old gripes, I know the guys tend to read the board and I hope they dont just gloss over this topic thinking it will be more "I want BWT online."

I know they pride themselves in listening to fan feedback, so I thought I'd make some suggestions I have here, and hope anyone else who has some good, small ideas, could add as well.

I love the game, and minus the hardware issues that EVERYONE is having, I see almost no flaws. But here's some minor things my friends and I have said that may or may not make sense to you guys. Thanks for listening:

1 - Once we're big rock stars, I'd love to make a setlist as long as I want it to be. I never even thought you'd cap the number of songs we could play in a row, but its looking to me like 5 is the max (I havent beaten the game yet, just asked around, so I could be wrong). It makes sense when we're starting out that clubs only want to book you for a 2 song set, but at some point I'd love to be a big enough rock star that I can call up Empire Square and tell them that I'm doing a 12 song epic set. EDIT: I mean a 'massive' set. I do not think it would be wise as a band to do a set of the song EPIC 12 times in a row. It seems like if you can do a marathon set of 12 songs, you should be able (technically) to make your own 12 song set.

2 - I think it would be cool if once you get a load screen, it stays the same. For example, when I started up my band I had my black t-shirt and my shaggy haircut, and we got the load screen of all of us looking at the screen. Now that we're big, I've got some sweet threads and an awesome cowboy hat (for GG&HT, of course). But when we get that load screen again, it's updated. While that's cool, it would be kind of awesome sometimes to get a screen of what we USED to look like. That way, we feel more like we've progressed, and moved up in the world.

3 - I HATED the fact I could "battle" people in GH3, and that then I could PLAY as Slash and Tom Morello. I want to be myself, and thankfully Rock Band allows me to do that. But when I was playing the Bowie pack this morining, I was thinking - wouldn't it be awesome if Bowie was singing? You've created animations and background visuals under the notes that somehow I'm able to watch WHILE I play. They're unique and really suck you into your gig. Because of how awesome they are (my drummer still announces to us everytime the singer stage dives) - it would be kind of cool to play WITH some big rock stars. Since we usually just play guitar/drums or guitar/bass, I wouldn't mind an "ALL BOWIE" setlist with Bowie singing! I realize that at launch you couldn't do this, because you only had 1 song per artist. But it would be great to see some sets patched in the game all from one artist with that artist "guesting" when you don't have a real live person doing thier part.

and finally

4 - I want pictures of my rocker. But from what I hear thats going to be in the new community site, so rock on.

--

Again - can't stress enough how happy I am with the game. This is not a list of "I WANT THIS AND YOU SHOULD DO IT", it's a list of things that would make an already surreal experience even better, for me personally. If even one HMX employee takes these into consideration in the next phase of RB, I'd be beyond excited. Thanks again for a great game, and good luck with the launch hardware bugs. With something this amazing, there was no way it was going to launch PERFECTLY ;)

in BWT there's a marathon mode i think where you play through every song in the game, so you can't get any bigger of a set than that lol

putting the characters into the game would probably take alot of time, plus it takes away from the singer's identity, since it is a band game and you're supposed to be an original band.. GH3 had some cool ideas with putting real rockers into the game, but rock band i think is taking a different approach, and if they put a real singer or a real drummer in, that would be taking away from that player's identity

and yeah the community site sounds pretty cool lol.. going back to ur second concern, i was going to say maybe with the new community site going up, you could take snapshots of your band early, save it, and then down the road take a new snapshot of your band and that way you'll have photos of the befores and afters.. it wont be loading screens, but maybe you could create photo albums with your bands images through the "years"

A few small ideas to tweak what's already in there:

1. being able to put tattoos on your rocker's back and legs (a female rocker has to have a tramp stamp and/or an ankle tattoo...)

2. in the practice space screen, show your rockers actually practicing, or setting up their instruments, not just standing around in a cluster (e.g. show the guitarist tuning the strings, the drummer setting up his kit, the singer and bass player talking and laughing about the groupies that threw their panties on the stage at the last concert...) maybe show this during some of the loading screens, as well

3. make the transition between songs in a set more seamless - after one song ends, show the band members switching out instruments (let's see those roadies!), talking to the fans, talking with each other, stuff like that - and have the results screen over that in a way that you can still see what's going on in the background

4. bring back the encore! after you do certain sets (maybe three songs and longer), the crowd will cheer for a song that you've done well on in the past (randomly chosen from the five - maybe ten - songs you've scored best on) - if you refuse, you don't earn as many fans

And I really like being able to create a longer set.

yeah, I want a completely Custom Setlist, #of songs, which songs, and order of songs, that would be awesome.

Dude, I'm on board with all of your suggestions.

I agree with Seafich, Encores were awesome, and I do miss them, especially since at the end of the solo tour, at least the vocal one you set off the pyrotechnics, I was expecting a 46th licensed track. o.o
