is it necesary to use the kick drum petal because i watched th gameplay and i dont see any notes for it so i was wondering if it was like the strum bar on the guitar or if it just an added periferal

What? Do you not see the long orange/yellow bar? That's the kick drum note.

The bass drum note extends across the entire note chart and it is a orange/yellow bar.
