Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Led Zeppelin Halftime show

Just watched the halftime show of the Fiesta Bowl - Ohio State v. University of Texas.

Ohio State's band played showtunes.
Texas played LED ZEPPELIN.

Hearing Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven by in a marching band was both haunting and beautiful. They just stood there and played. Then they cut to commercial. Dag. Listening to the field announcer tell tidbits about Stairway was cool.

Classic Rock will never go out of style...

Um, when it takes a last minute, come from behind TD drive to beat a Big Ten team with a running trend of gagging in BCS bowl games, you don't get to brag about how awesome you are, let alone how unbeatable you are.

I do agree that the Texas is not the best team in that nation; McCoy threw the ball 59 freaking times. I believe Florida is the best team.

Also, "gagging" in BCS bowls is losing to the Boise State's and Utah's. Or maybe someone will finally accuse Oklahoma of being the BCS chokers (lost to LSU, 55-19 vs USC, Boise State, 42-21 vs. WVU), though they seem to get a free pass in the media.

It was an awesome game last night, though. Hats off to Texas (I like their coach, players, and fans) for a great game.

The fact that Texas played Led Zeppelin makes me think that Classic Rock will triumph over this Hip-Hop craze and Rock will come back on top.

And we could proclaim the '30s the second set of years that love hair bands.

And to add to the bowl talk, I'm so tired of people saying how great the Pac-10 was for going 5-0. Yes USC beat Penn State. hats off to them. But I'm fairly sure even the Big 10 would have down well against the BYU's of the world. What a bunch of pathetic matchups

The BCS is flawed, point finale.

I was at the game. Texas may have won, but the OSU marching band played circles around the Pride of the Longhorns. Their halftime show wasn't showtunes, it was classical music; fast and crazy good.
Texas was boring. Stairway to heaven. More like stairway to the concession stand. Ask the crowd; Ohio State got a well deserved standing ovation, most of the crowd left during Texas, including their own fans.

Ohio State was truly better when it comes to bands.
