RB2 not saving scores or characters

I'm pretty new to RB and would like to understand why my scores are not being saved. I'm on an 80GB PS3 and the scores used to save just fine. I even created a band and characters then started to go through the Tour, but those are gone now. I haven't played online so I don't see how it could be related to the folks seeing similar when playing online. I do have an account I've created and purchased songs online, but that's it. I'm really tired of playing without having any history here. Seems the data should save to HD.

I've google'd and searched through this forum for this issue and found nothing. If anyone has some ideas I would appreciate the help.
