Yea I know it's up a little early but I wont have time to post before in the morning.

Jan 7

1958 - Gibson guitars registers the US patent for their legendary Flying V model.

1968 - George Harrison begins writing the score for the film Wonderwall.

1970 - Double A-Side The Witches Promise/Teacher garners Jethro Tull a #4 hit in the UK

1972 - Changes gains David Bowie a #66 hit in the US. He also declares his bi-sexuality in Melody Maker.

1974 - Casablanca Records signs KISS to a record deal.

1975 - Thousands of Led Zeppelin fans riot in Boston while waiting for the arena box office to open. $30,000 in damges and a few hours later , the show is cancelled. Meanwhile in New York 60,000 tickets for 3 shows at Madison Square Garden sell out in just under 4 hours!

1975 - The belatedly released single Freebird is a #19 hit in the US for Lynrd Skynrd

1980 - AC/DC's Touch To Much is #29 in the UK

1980 - The Ramones' End Of The Century is #44 in the US and #14 in the UK.

1982 - Motley Crue's Vince Neil is arrested at the Troubadour after punching out a female patron, who takes offence at the official US Marines uniform he is wearing.


1983 - Clive Burr quits Iron Maiden, he is replaced by longtime friend to the band and ex Trust drummer Nicko McBrain.

1984 - King of Pain by The Police is #17 in the UK

1984 - Prince's Let's Pretend We're Married/Irrisistable ***** peaks at #52 in the US

1986 - Alice Cooper begins recording what will become a huge comeback album for him, Constrictor

I think you mean Led Zeppelin fans, but I would love to see angry metal blimps attack humans.

Shouldn't "Led Zeppelin announces first new studio album since 1979 (with new vocalist)" be on there? ;)
