I have faced the horrid truth that no time soon I am going to conquer the final song on solo guitar career, Green Grass and High Tides. I thought I was good on expert, but this song never fails to make me look like a child.

Does any "pro" at this song have a guide or tips for passing the final section of the final solo? I mean, sometimes I get into it, but if you fall out your ****ed. Especially the OBYOBYOBY parts, and also the GRYRGRYRGRY parts...

(Also, because I want to beat this song and show off in front of my friends :))

Go to practice mode and learn how to do solo 2 with about 80% with the solo fret buttons. I could not beat that song until i took the time to learn those solo buttons. I have beat all the other GH games on expert too. Other then green grass i could just use the normal fret buttons and hit just about everything easily. Its just the end of green grass thats a killer on RB. Took me a little while to finally adjust playing with my fingers so close together. Once you get the feel for it though it adds a whole new element using the strat.

assault420 has it... go to practice and use the solo buttons. i thought i'd never get that part down, but now it comes pretty easy. i think i even got close to the magic number on ggaht. my score was ~397,000. i'm guessing gold stars pop up at 400,000? i had 5 stars before i even started solo 2. how many extra freaking points does it take?

so psyched - yet slightly bummed - to hear this.

Ive been stuck on that 2nd solo for a couple days now - using the X-Plorer because my Strat is dead.

So once my replacement comes I'll be practicing that solo and finally nailing it. But its a shame I cant do it now.

Oh well - vocal tour, here I come, in the meantime...

What'll make you hate this even more? Outlaws would have 3 guys on lead guitar at live shows.

80% is where I fair everytime. I've tried the solo buttons, but looks like I need to slow the song down a bit and give it an hour of practice. I just got my ass handed to me in a tug of war match on this song, too.

If you are just trying to pass it, and don't care about your streak(which is what I did the first time though), it really isn't that bad.
For me, the parts you are talking were tough, as well as the descending triplets afterwords(if you haven't gotten past your question, then your in for some more hard stuff). The good news is that you are done with the song at that point. Here is what I do.
For the parts you are talking about I save my overdrive and just play the descending 3. I can keep my meter pretty high throughout the song, so missing 1 out of 4 notes doesn't hurt me to bad. Skipping the one note that takes you back up really makes it a lot easier and will let you hit a lot more notes overall.
Then once you get past the two sections of that, use your overdrive on the descending triplets. Then you barely have to play them and you will make it through, and at that point you should have a full overdrive anyway. And then the song is over.
As far as playing the song well and with a combo, I think the easiest way will be with the solo buttons, but my guitar is broken aswell, and im using the les paul. So when that works I will give it a shot, but for now, this will get you through it.
Also make sure you use the hammer ons and pull offs on the parts you are talking about, because it will keep you from overstrumming, which is much worse then missing notes.

Holy crap. Where'd you see that? Is there a list of gold star scores somewhere? I'd like to see how far off I am on the ones I don't have yet.

Left hand - green at top
right hand - red - yellow on solo buttons

That's how I do it.
