Went to Guitar Center to get some timpani mallets or something similar, to quiet downstairs neighbors' complaints. I commented to the clerk that I was looking for a softer stick to play Rock Band with. He pointed to another customer, and said, "Yeah, that guy's looking for the same thing; also a drum throne. I'm gonna have to get this game."
It was amusing. Anyone have similar experiences at music stores?

Just don't mention Guitar Hero there; a lot of workers don't like that game because it is so unrealistic. I play a lil guitar, and I went to the Guitar Center by my house. The guy in front of me in line to buy guitar strings mentioned something about Guitar Hero and how he wanted to pick up guitar after playing it because, quote; "How hard can it possibly be".
Four of the workers there started arguing about how GH3 was so bad and unrealistic. The guy just kept arguing with em until he left the store without buying the strings.
And that's why I love Guitar Center. :D

they're no better than the idiot people that work at a Hot Topic store. They figure they're higher on the food chain because they work at guitar center or something. heh. that's why i do the majority of my shopping on the internet. i went in there looking for a good starter lefty guitar and they pretty much told me to go **** myself.

I am so lame I went to Guitar Center on day 2 to buy a drum throne and mic stand. The Guitar Center dude actually did not think I was nuts, and has a friend who wants to get rock band. BTW, they actually sell Guitar Hero there, so I think it is actually OK to mention it.

Lol, Guitar Center sells and advertises Guitar Hero III.
I'm definitely going to put a lot of stuff from Guitar Center on my Xmas list (great stuff since most of it is $10-30) and pick up the rest that isn't bought.
Mic stand/clip
Guitar bag(s)/case(s)
Throne
Guitar stands
Mic stand shelf
Drum sticks
And a few other bits from say the RockBandStore like:
Drum Bag
XBox Travel Bag

my neighbors below me have done nothing but complain about the bass pedal noise. Even at 630 pm they still knock on my door and tell me to turn it off. What the ****.

I went to GC last friday to buy my wife an acoustic guitar as an early christmas present since I had the money (bought the Ibanez cutaway guitar acoustic/electric beginner pack with an amp for $200, not a bad guitar and amp at all, actually!), and I bought their cheapest drum throne, and we told the guy it was for Rock Band lol... I didn't think about scoring any timpani mallets though. No one thought it was odd at all though.

Did you see Ben Stiller in The Pick of Destiny. I swear, I've seen many like him at GC around Chicago.
Speaking of TPOD, we need to make a gig simulator for RB.

ha ha ha I live down here in Texas and last time I went to guitar center and yeah I saw a couple of guys that looked like him. (Hair was pulled back though.)
No way a gig simulator would be too harsh, nobody would survive it.
