Hi,
First I am not very cpu savvy so the problems may be due to ignorance rather than technical so please help me in determining which one it is, then be so kind to give me a possible solution or steps to achieve the goal.
My problem is that I cannot access battle of the bands nor do any challenges. I get some message about possible offensive name or band name. And yes I have Wi-Fi connection, heck I am even able to search/find other players to do a co-op with but not the above. The secondquestion/problem is I bought the special edition bundle and their is no special/promo code on the manual for the code for the free songs.
In ending I would like to say that I have been a gamer all my life ( A thirty something one here) and this has to be the best game ever!

I have to agree with your assertion about the quality of the game :)
For Battle of the Bands, your band name can trigger a filter from your console company (in your case Nintendo). These filters can seem fairly asinine and confusing. The first or second three letters of assassin could trigger such a filter, and it's possible that "offensive" words spelled in reverse could also cause problems. These filters are not controlled by HMX/EA, so you would need to contact Nintendo concerning this. May I ask what your "offensive" band name was?
Second, you do not need a promo code for the free 20 tracks for RB2 Wii. They will be available as soon as all of the other DLC. Keep an eye on the announcements forum for more information as available.
Happy Rocking!

Fortune Cookie Inc. for the band
Puck (Drummer), Melissa( Guitarist ), PopPrincess (Vocals), and TOOL( alternate ). Now I thought maybe the Puck name did it. Which is short for hockey-puck since it gets the beatdown in the hockey game for my drummer name. So, I loaded TOOL in substitute... still got the boot with it also. Any advice?

if the word backwards can cause the problem, check out the last three letters of Melissa in reverse, could be your issue.

And that's why I think that the filters go too far. Someone had Valhalla disallowed for being "unclassy." The only possible "problem" I see with that name is the last 5 letters in reverse. Silly censorship.

yeah, it's pretty bad. I mean, what difference does it make, the game's rated "T" lol. Nintendo is just a little crazy when it comes to censorship. I suppose it keeps them from getting a lawsuit from some nutjob parent lol

From what I've seen, Nintendo is following right along with Microsoft on this one. Sony seems to let a lot more pass if I remember correctly. There was a thread on GameFAQS many months ago when I was active there about this same issue where the PS3ers were pretty amused by the banned band names on the X360.

I've stuck to my real name now... If they try to call it offensive, I'll sure the crap out of them. Lol.
Yeah, the sensorship has def gone too far. I changed my band name because of filters... Yet you still see Obama-esque Miis driving around in Mario Kart Wii Online with the "N-word" as their name... Way to go Ninty.

It ended up being the band name believe it or not! SO I changed it to Wii United with the frontman's name being Wii Tard and it accepted it! Thanks for all the help. Now if I can just get higher rank on the challenges!

You know I believe it. The name filters are getting a little silly (to be nice about it).
I'm glad you got it worked out. Happy Rocking!

could it be that someone else already had that band name? will it let multiple people use the same name?
