I'm doing a documentary style presentation (meaning it has to be a lot more flashier then just some pics and words on a screen) and I have to put my own voice on it and such. now I know how to put my voice on it, but how do I put triggers (since the project has to be able to stand by itself without me doing anything but pressing play) so that it goes to the next slide after a certained amount of time.

Right click the object (for sounds, it should display a little speaker icon somewhere on the slide)... then choose "Custom Animation" to bring up the Animations tab. While the object is still selected, click the "Add Effect" button, and select an Exit. Choose you start time from the pulldown as "After Previous". A new Title pulldown should appear on the list in the Animations tab. You can choose a timing from the pulldown here as well: Very Fast (0.5 sec), Fast (1 sec), Medium (2 sec), Slow (3 sec), or Very Slow (5 sec), or you can use the pulldown on the Title list and choose Timing to set your own delay time in seconds.
You can also do Entrances in the same way if you like to make the slide's set up a little more flashy. Note: for the first set of animations, "After Previous" this will refer to the start of the slide.
Hope that helps :)

allright I got that, but I can't get my voice to play when I want it to. I want it to start as soon as the slide starts, but it starts when the previous animation starts, and I recorded my voice last if that helps.

When I go to "Add Sound from File" in Powerpoint 03, it asks if I want to click it or start right away. Does it give you that option?
In any case, the sound should show up on your Custom Animation timeline, so if you want it to play automatically when the slide comes up, move it to the very top for that slide (#0 or 1, whichever's first) and set "Start" to "After Previous"

Yea I figured it out. and do you know how to improve the quality of the sound, is it the microphone or the computer, because it sounds pretty staticy. Are their any good mics that are like under 40$. and I'm using the Rock Band Mic in case you were wondering.

First time I've heard of someone using the Rock Band mic to record voice for a slideshow :)
If you've got access to another microphone, try that one out. Check the connection, don't hold the microphone too close to your mouth, and so on.
You could always pick up a different microphone for much less than 40 bucks, but try this stuff out first and you may save some money.

The Rock Band microphone is very clear when I use it to record voiceovers on my Mac. I'm guessing you just have the microphone level set too high or are compressing the recording too much in software.
Also, somewhere there's an option to boost the microphone level, I forget where it is though. It's usually on by default, and you probably need to turn it off.

I still can't find any of the options you mentioned, and now it keeps on freezing for some reason. not the whole computer, but just the powerpoint.
