Bat out of Hell anyone?

Ok, so let me first say that I think the songlist for this game is pretty amazing. I don't have the game yet, but I'm getting it for christmas, and I'm really, really pumped. There are a few songs that I think are missing, but only one of them I find really important.

Bat out of Hell. It's almost a forgotten album in my generation, which is truly a sad thing since the music stands up even in today's music industry. The song: Bat out of Hell is without a doubt one of the greatest rock songs of all time - There's a kick ass intro that lasts more than 10 seconds, a surplus of guitar riffs and solos, hardcore and softer vocal sections, and most importantly a motorcycle. The song even ends in somebody dying... because he crashed his motorcycle... and his heart flew out of his body. This is truly the quintessential rock song.

Completely secondary are a few other songs on the CD which would also be cool to have in Rock Band, but they're not essential. Paradise by the Dashboard Light, and All Revved Up and No Place to Go (just the last minute of that song would make it worthy to put on here) are the only two other songs from that CD which really fit with the game.

Anyway, does anyone else agree that Bat out of Hell is a necessity for this game?

Absolutely. One of the greatest rock albums of all time. "Heaven Can Wait" and "For Crying Out Loud" would have to be left off though.

That's a given. As I said, Bat out of Hell, Paradise by the Dashboard Light, and All Revved Up and No Place to Go are the only three I can see being great in the game, since it doesn't include piano or backup vocals.

10 minutes of pure amazingness. There are so many cool guitar riffs/solos in that song, and the vocals are absolutely fantastic. Singing the very end of it feels so badass.

Yeah, I forgot that Bat out of Hell II actually had some good songs in it. Without Meatloaf's dead voice, some of those songs are Rock Band worthy.

yes they are i believe thats an overlooked album. when it came it was hot but just like everything else it fades out, however i find myself replaying once every few months lol

Well in all honesty, it was probably just Meatloaf trying to milk out the whole "Bat out of Hell" thing as much as possible. The first album was so great that anything he came out with after that was going to sell like crazy. By that time his voice was already completely gone, and a lot of the songs weren't that great. I thought the album was really a let down after Bat out of Hell I.

That being said, it did have it's moments, and many of the songs were brilliant works of art despite Meatloaf's dead voice. I'd rate Bat out of Hell I as one of the top 5 greatest albums in history, and Bat out of Hell II was great, but it wasn't even close to Bat out of Hell I.

Point is, I want to see Bat out of Hell in Rock Band, and a few other Meatloaf songs would be nice as well.

Well in the song Bat out of Hell, the beginning (after the intro) is the only really piano-based part, and it'd be easy to convert to guitar since it's all just decreasing triads. Some of the other songs on the album are too piano-based to convert though - like Heaven Can Wait, and For Crying Out Loud.

The 6 minutes of pure guitar madness in Bat out of Hell will definitely make up for the 45 seconds of piano-ness, which is necessary to make it a good song anyway.
