Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero

I bought this RockBand for my son tonight, and I was wondering if the guitar in the RockBand set is compatible with the Guitar Hero games? I am very new to this and I am not familiar with either game. I appreciate any information or help you can give to me. Thanks.:confused:

guitar hero controllers will work with rock band, but the rock band controllers will not work with any guitar hero game.

Nope, if you look on the Guitar Hero 3 box (if you have it) it says "Only licensed Guitar Hero guitars are compatible". In the bottom corner of the box. Problems with the software, it doesn't recognize the strat but the Les Paul from Guitar Hero 3 works for Rock Band.

And this statement is true only if you own a 360.

If you own a PS3 neither guitar is compatible with the other game.

First of all welcome to the cool world of Rhythm game. You have bought the best one!! The fender that comes with Rock Band is not compatible with any of the Guitar hero games. This was a bone head decision by Activision, as Harmonix wanted to make the fender compatible. However the Xplorer from guitar hero II and the Gibson from guitar hero III will work with Rock Band. Hope this helps.
