What do the different colored checkmarks mean?

In BWT when you complete a gig (and also on the leaderboards), you get a checkmark. Sometimes it's black, sometimes it's clear, sometimes it's gold, and I think I saw some on the leaderboards that looked bronze.

Anybody know how to interpret these?

The color means what difficulty level it was completed on. The lowest person's difficulty is what counts.

I don't know which colors represent what but it popped up on a screen before I started and didn't remember the colors.

Bronze - Med
Silver - Hard
Gold - Expert

Wow. And this just surprises me because I only see 10-20 gold checkmarked people in the top 50 on every challenging-impossible song on expert :eek:

What's even more scary is that I'm #1 in the leaderboards on Flirtin' with Disaster on Expert for PS3 with 235K+ pts. right when I'm posting this.
