Practice, practice, and a little more practice. The singing just measures you pitch in the song, not the correct words. If you are still playing guitar on easy then you are probably new to the game and all I can tell you is that it just takes practice.

I soooo need to get the house to myself. I want to practice but there is always someone right there and its kinda embarassing when im trying to play around running the arrow up and down to find where my voice needs to be.

Do you know the songs? Have you sung along to them on the radio/iPod/whatever?
I find I sing songs a lot better when I know them...of course having sung in choirs for many years doesn't hurt either, but I think anyone can do it, and knowing a song helps a lot with knowing where your voice is supposed to be.

well I just practiced "Should I stay or should I go" which is a song they I can really get into and my practices had me getting 60 - 70 % awesome. I think I need to rent a hotel room for a few days and just go wild. I never sang in life because I didnt want to be that loser that irritates everyone. I really never tested my voice.

I know, I know, its a cheap tactic but you dont have to sing the actual word you can just sort of hum into the microphone at the proper pitch. If i cant beat a song thats what i do.

i would rather not do that. Im throwing a Rock Band party over christmas break and I want to sing a a few songs. But it would probably help me understand the pitch i need.

I'd suggest listening to the songs in your spare time, trying to get a feel for the tone of the song.
I preform a lot better when I try to mimic the voice of the singer as well, as opposed to just singing in my own terrible voice.
Surprisingly, I can do a MEAN Tom Sawyer and Flirtin with Disaster. :D

here's a trick I found out:
you don't even have to sing the words to the song
all you have to do is hum in the proper pitch (this is on medium at least).
There are more than a few songs I have never heard before or that I don't know very well that I found if you just hum at the proper pitch, it will still give you awesomes and such.
Of course you SHOULD learn to sing the words in the proper pitch, and I can a lot of songs, but for the moment, just to learn how to change pitch cleanly and properly I hum the parts I don't know.

As long as you get the right pitch, you can say anything. There will be parts where I forget to say is coming up and it's saying I did awesome, lol. What I do on songs I don't really know well is turn the mic volume down and keep the vocal track up and just mock the pitch and words. Just my advice.

practice, practice, it doesn't come over night man there are also drills that you can do as a singer to improve you voice, if your throat feels a little scratchy don't push yourself man. If you do you may lose your voice for a little bit. No one is really bad at singing you just need to learn how to control your voice; just start off slow practice and you'll get better. I sucked at guitar hero when I first started within a year i was a god. Sucked playing real guitar in the begining also but getting much better. One step at a time friend you'll get better.

Ummm....maybe you just suck? Try listening to the songs...they're both great songs, I can definitely five star dani cal on expert...although I sound just like that guy when I sing it! but just takes some time and learn how to sing...if you have a musical instrument or a tuning fork or something, make a sound with it and try to match the pitch...If you give it a shot, you should be able to sing any song, unless you're an old smoking lady with a hole in her throat...was that funny or distasteful? I can't tell...:)
