Rock Band 2 for the Wii is freezing up

I just purchased Rock Band 2 for the Wii less than a week ago. My Wii is also brand new. The game is starting to freeze up. It happened once when I was editing a character, and twice when I was in practice mode playing the drums. Should I get a replacement disk or are their other troubleshooting steps I should take before getting a new disk?

Like completely freeze (requires power down), or just a hiccup. Slight slowdown does not mean the game is broken, the game is really pushing the Wii to it's limits.

Mine is freezing too. It is not a slight hiccup. It requires a complete power down. I cant even use the reset button to fix it. I have to unplug the console. It has happened during character clothing, and some menu screens. The screen freezes and the sound is a sharp buzz that doesn't stop. Please help!

The same thing has happened to me, twice. Thankfully it hasn't happened in over a week now. There have been numerous threads started for this problem. It's obviously an issue, but I haven't found anywhere on the forums where it's been officially addressed as of yet.

I noticed little stutters in Rockband when playing at my friends house - and when I took it home and went to go to the Music store it totally freezes dead. You actually have to turn it off at the system because the controller is non-responsive.

Yeah, I just tried going to the Rock Band Store 3 times consecutively... It freezes each time while its loading the store.

Just an FYI to those of you "pulling the plug" because reset doesn't work... Hold the power button down for 6 seconds, that does a "full power down" without yanking the power source with a disc spinning inside.

I've had the game "freeze" 5 times now, 2 of which were in the store.

There been some posting about freeze-ups when perusing bandanas in the RockShop. Is it happening there or in the Music store?

This has happened a few times to us here also, but tonight it really made us angry. We were playing a "drum master" challenge and had to retry Battery about 6 times before we got it right. Just as we finished the last note of the song... FREEZE!

I'll definitely be warning my friends about this bug.

I was talking about the Music Store, Rock Shop clothing issues with the game are something I haven't seen... But good to know about, good thing I never give my characters bandanas...

the same thing happens to me. it will freeze for a couple of seconds and then resume. this happens at random times. rock shop, selectin venue, beginning of song.......HELP! :mad::(

I just called nintendo about it because I couldn't find anything that stated there was a problem , till of course after I talked to them.
They wanted me to send my Wii in for repair but it works fine with every other game. It even works fine playing rockband 2. It just freezes up when I try to load the music store. Sounds more like a game issue to me. But Harmonix hasn't mentioned anything so I'm not sure what to do.....

as of right now, the store seems to be back up. i've just downloaded the 4 boston tracks, so it seems to be working

Yeah..
I just got it a few days ago and it froze up in the middle of a song at least 3 times and I had to totally restart my Wii.
It also froze while it was loading a song or another menu.
It froze at least 10 times on me by now. :S

Anyone found a solution yet?

I've never had any freezing problems...until today when it froze 4 straight times trying to enter the music store. I don't know why and I'm starting to get pretty pissed.

Must be an issue with the store. Mine is now freezing up while trying to access the store as well (all 4 Xs) and I've never had any issues in the past / always turn my Wii all the way off.

Glad to know im not alone in this
i called Nintendo about problem and they redirected me to EA, after calling EA they tried to direct me to Nintendo, so i told them i was directed here and they tried to see what was up.
she tried to blame it on my internet but clearly im online now and can even play rb2 online just fine, thn she said its cuz im using wii wirelessly and not wired, but she said the problem could be that the servers are down. EA just forgot to set up a server is down message i guess and it causes the Wii to freeze when trying to access the music store.

So thats my 2 cents,

mine froze today for the 1st time when I was trying to get into the Music Store.

Just bought RB2 for Wii and it froze playing the first song. Locked up the Wii to a point that I had to unplug and plug it back in to get it going again. Tried again, different song, locked again (random location). Emailed EA and now they want to RMA my game disc. They also said that it could be Wii that is faulty. Well, every other Wii game (including RB1) works fine and I have never had any lock ups. THe game disc is brand new and failed the first time out of the box. What will replacing the game do for me?

Are any of you folks seeing the freezes using RB1 hardware (guitar, drums, mic, etc) with RB2? Just trying to see if there is any consistency with this issue being limited to users with the original RB1 equipment who just purchased the RB2 game CD only.

I've had three freezes today going to the Music Store as well. Glad its a systemwide issue apparently. Probably will be fixed soon.

My charcter's face freaks out with certain bandana configurations, like really bad face-warping and clipping... I have to reboot to fix it.

Yeah every time I turn my Wii on it freezes, takes about 10 minutes then goes to the menu, when i first go to the store it is fine, but when i download the track it freezes, this makes it very frustrating and sure as heck not wanting me to ever download anything, but with the new J.E.W. tracks i felt obligated to buy them... Oh well this is a very frustrating issue, where is the patch or something???!!

For me it just happens randomly. Usually when more than one player is trying to navigate or select something. It pops to a loading screen and freezes. A slight buzzing sound occurs too.

This many people and no answer from Harmonix / EA? Between issues like these and getting screwed on DLC I'm losing my patience with this game.
