I gotta be honest with you guys...rock band's gameplay is the most amazing thing i have seen in a long time...but...the controllers must be fixed.I don't mean to insult but the instruments are the worst thing I've ever seen!my friend opened his up and guess what he saw?glue! It didn't even look proffesional!it looks like the creators didn't know how else to adjust it, so they slapped some glue on it for good measure! My games busted and i read the reviews so i was careful,it broke anyway.these instruments are horrible...i know friends who have returned it to EA and their instruments got broken in a shorter amount of time!if I'm wrong, please tell me...and dont say "i just got it today and its fine!"wait a week and you will see....if they fixed the controllers i would vote it game of the year...oh well...:(

Well ive had it for a week now. I play guitar on Expert and my guitar is fine. I play drums on hard and both my brother and I wail on it pretty hard. Id say we have played a good 6-7 hours each day. My 360 was on from tues - sun (so i wouldnt get the red lights-LONG STORY) Anyways, yeah all of my instruments are in perfect working condition. I guess I just got lucky?

i've had it since release day and my stuff is working fine. The strum bar on my Strat is unresponsive at times but I wouldn't say it's broken, it just acts stupid from time to time and seems to work fine after a couple of songs. Drum set works like a charm.

I think most of us would probably agree with you. Great game... too bad the things you NEED to play it were apparently so poorly made.

I, for one, am patient enough to deal with this. I'm just disappointed that something like this had to happen, and there are probably a lot of people, most of whom seem to post here (and write like 8-year-olds), who aren't so patient....

I thought my controllers were broken also, but then I started to play for a while and well it was the User. They work fine now. :D They might be unrespovie at times but I can't really tell, they only thing that sucks is my PS3 echos when I have the mic hooked up, it has about a 2 second delay. I don't belive it is the mic but my PS3, I just turn off the Dolby digital and it is much better.

Did you try calibrating you instruments?

I calibrated my drumset and now it works even better than before.

OMG a voice of reason. I feel the same way...my Strat broke on day two, but there's no sense in crying on teh internets about it. I can wait until they send me another one and have fun playing with another guitar or the drums in the meantime.

Game of the year in my opinion, and in due time all the peripheral issues will be worked out. My Fender lasted 8 hours, but I don't mind rockin' with a Gibson Xplorer until I get a replacement. (Which will probably be in the new year for us Canadians that imported the game early, as EA will not ship a replacement product to Canada no matter how much you offer to pay them!)

My drums have been great too but I'm starting to have a similar feeling about the Strat. I really REALLY want to like it but it keeps do inconsistent things. ie: in song selection holding strum down, the cursor doesn't move consistently, sometimes one, in steps, or not at all; holding up strum, it moves like I'd expect it. ie: playing creep this morning alt strum... down strum seems to double up or chokes at times... so I played it like I do (my real) bass.. (two) finger style...resulting in all up strums... and nailed every note. I'm giving the Strat time.. it is different than my GH I/II/III models... but I'm starting to lose a little confidence in it.

As a real life bass player, it would be nice to have an extra instrument to play bass in the game in a band... not just quick play solo. That all will come soon enough I guess.

Overall, the game has been a lot of fun and worth (or will be worth) the price. I had a few tense days with GH III and it all worked out in the end. I'm sure Rock Band will too.

Got it on launch and no probs so far... The strummer was doing a double hit a few times, but hit it with some canned air, and problem solved... Drums kick butt, I have been playing them non-stop while my friends and cousin have been wailing on the guitar... I can see how the pedal could break, but I play drums IRL, and I have a lot more control of my foot, as to not stomp on the pedal too hard... I also play without shoes, which is less rough on the pedal... You get a better feel for the bass taps that way, I think...
