They must have known. Otherwise why put that big pink STOP!! Warning do not return to retailer we want your money for our shabby work, paper. I have never seen such a warranty paper in any other product I've bought. Hmmmmm.... sort of conspiracy theory but usually you have to search and read fine print about warranty.

OK, we get it, you are angry. Myself and a lot of other people are also getting impatient about replacements, but you don't need to make 10 threads about it.

I work for Samsung and about 1/4th of all the paperwork that comes with their products has a statement just like the pink slip. It is standard procedure for consumer electronics, because simply put people are stupid. An item returned because someone didnt think to unplug and plug the usb hub back in would be treated the same as an item that is broken in half, which means the bundle that is perfectly fine needs to get sent off to be factory checked. Those statements save the company money which keeps this from being a $200 game. Why bright pink? If it was just a white card would you even bother to read it?

As opposed to 180?!

Maybe the others were white which is why I missed them. lol

For real though. USB plugs aren't the issue here. A drum pad not registering and downstrums breaking are fairly easy to identify as opposed to someone who doesnt know how to hook up there surround sound and thinks it is broken.

I agree, but I'm just saying take my job for a day... after that you will understand the need for these. I have gotten calls from young adults who should know that a tv needs to be plugged in but b/c it is highdef they feel that a power cable doesnt need to be plugged in. Now I have never been in a controller factory so Im not sure if they could have known this would happen in time or not. Simply giving a good company a defense. As far as 200 vs 180... im a cheap bastard so ill let them charge 20 less if they include a pink slip haha. Now in the meantime... I for one am going to become one hell of a singer if my replacement gets held up.

Yes the reason is two fold. One is it's consumer electronics and there are things like monitor calibration that could make something someone thinks isn't working, working again. The other issue is with something this phyiscally large and manufacturing intensive, they don't want you taking it back to Best Buy and taking another "perfectly good" product off the shelves during the holidays that could have been sold to someone else.

I've seen firsthand these notices on other products, one being a piece of furniture that had to be put together.

More importantly, going through EA lets you replace what is broken with updated hardware. Going through the store gets you 4 new pieces of hardware which could have the same problems as the old ones, as well as keeping another person from buying and enjoying the game.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.
