Garrett Hedlund ("Friday Night Lights," "Four Brothers," "Eragon") will play the lead role in “Tr2n,” the sequel to "Tron."

By all appearances Flynn might have slipped to the dark side in this one. Although I hear there might be more than meets the eye to that angle...

It seems to be saying that this movie will cost $150 million. Jeff Bridges' Flynn is in it and it'll cost $150 million... The Tron nerd in me (I have a framed Australian one-sheet for this movie on my bedroom wall) is freaking out about now.

No matter what, I'm excited. Bridges alone means my ass in a seat and I've heard there is some real excitement about this project at Disney, so hopefully we'll end up with a real and worthy follow-up to one of the best geek films in the last three decades

1. because they are a movie studio...
2. there have been rumors of a tron sequel for years...
3. why not wait until the movie comes out to start saying such things.. never know, it may be a great movie... it certainly has potential.

Not the star of the sequel, don't like him one bit. He doesn't scream "I rock at Space Paranoids" like Jeff Bridges did.

What's cool is that I just joined here out of Wii DLC release happiness and found a TRON thread first thing!:D

And to clear up all the TR2N name unhappiness.... It's not failed leetspeek. It's actually a very clever (imo) play on the TRON font originally created by Syd Mead, who did the art direction for the original film along with Blade Runner.

I tried using the word Tron in a game of Boggle on New years eve with my family. I am going to have to get the original to show my kids before the new one comes out. Starting to get pumped.

Crystal Skull wasn't that bad, imo. It was just really far fetched.

And I don't agree with it being called TRON 2.0. There was already a game called TRON 2.0, and it has been mentioned by Steven Lisberger, who IS involved and directed the original film, that TRON 2.0 the game will be in a different cannon than TR2N. I think the TR2N name is great. I pronounce it as "TRON 2", and like I said above, the 2 in the title is a creative use of the 2 in the font. It's not leetspeek, and anyone who uses the internets correctly should know that, lol.
