Just barely got into this whole guitar hero / Rock band frenzy two days ago and man .. i can honestly say rock band is probably one of the sickest games out there. Some songs that'd be great to rock out to would be these..

Corrosion of Conformity - Albatross

Bush - Machine Head
Bush - Come Down

Billy Idol - White Wedding
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

Deftones - Hole in the Earth

Incubus - Dig
Incubus - Pardon Me

My Chemical Romance - Ghost of You

Nirvana - Lithium
Nirvana - The Man who sold the World
Nirvana - You know you're Right
Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit

Oasis - Wonderwall

Pennywise - Society

Red - Breathe Into Me

Smashing Pumpkins - 1979

Korn - Freak on a Leash
Korn - Got the Life

311 - Down

Chevelle - The Red

Thats my list for now.. i can probably think of more but my mind went blank. What do you all think? Eh?

Just so you know, the entire "Nevermind" by Nirvana will be available for download.

HMX already said no to "Rebel Yell". I would love "Dancin' with Myself", though.

With Korn, I'd rather have "Chutes and Ladders" and "Blind".

I can think of ten or so Smashing Pumpkins songs I'd rather play.

I can think of ten or so Oasis songs I'd rather play.

"Down" would be fun.

Deftones: how about "Minerva"?

Pennywise would be nice. Don't forget "Bro Hymn"!

Bush, Chevelle, Red = meh. OK, maybe "Swallowed" by Bush.

COC? Wow, I haven't listened to them in almost 20 years!

Yeah bro hymn .. that'd be so nuts especially the drum solo at the end. COC rocks. Minerva would rule too. Be quiet and drive, my own summer, RX queen, knife party. all of those songs by Deftones rocks.

...Do people realize that there was music before 1986...? Let's take care of some obvious things before we add any "Barenaked Ladies" tunes:
Any chance for Led Zeppelin..? If you offered Black Dog for download I would never leave the house, although any Zeppelin song is pretty perfectly suited for this game (Rock&Roll, Stairway To Heaven, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, etc etc etc etc.).
I know The Beatles are probably tough rights to get a hold of, but I can't imagine anyone not downloading a Beatles album or song pack. And the advertising for that could be enormous. If Yoko Ono is the only thing holding you back, just let me know, I've been trying to kill her for years..
There's so much 60s and 70s rock that's just dying to get in this game. Can't Get No Satisfaction, Stay With Me (or anything by the Faces), any number of songs by The Doobie Brothers, The Doors, Jimmi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival (one song isn't enough), The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Queen, and other things that I can't think of off the top of my head at 3am.

More importantly (so much so that it gets it's own line): Radar Love by Golden Earring might possibly be the most perfect song to add to the game. If it cost $50, I'd still try to download it more than once.

Let's Go by The Cars. Layla by Derek and the Dominoes. Hell, Dream On by Aerosmith or even I Want You To Want Me by Cheap Trick, you could dare people not to download and they'd still get downloaded. There are great songs from the first two Guitar Hero games that would make even better Rock Band songs; people would still download them, plus that would be just one more nail in the coffin of Guitar Hero.

Of course contemporary stuff is great too, this game just seemed like the perfect vehicle for some classic rock and I didn't want that to quickly take a backseat to other stuff. I mean, Creep and Maps are brilliant songs to put on the game.
The Whites Stripes would be perfect if only they had a bass player (ditto for The Black Keys), but if there's no way around that at least you could add a Raconteurs song (like Broken Boy Soldier)! Dimension by Wolfmother, something by The Shins, The Arctic Monkeys, more Foo Fighters, U2, a Matchbox Twenty pack... it's endless.
Just never stop adding good songs, and I'll never stop downloading them.

The Man Who Sold the World is a David Bowie cover. That's fine though, because it was a pretty good cover, and that means we can have more Bowie songs.

I pretty much agree with everything here, except for cheap drick and some stuff in the last few sentences.

I'd love nothing more than to see some White Stripes songs. Maybe if they just made them anyway but lowered the price a bit since you're losing an instrument?
