Will the ION drumset work with Rockband 1

I just got the ION drumset ,still need to unbox it .Problem is,it comes wihout the game. I (or more precisely,my son) own a PS2 ,and the PAL version of Rockband 2 for PS2 is not out yet .So my question is if the ION drumset will work with Rockband 1.
Please don't tell me to save up for a PS3,I know I should but spoiling and 11 year old rotten isn't the way to go (for me at least;))

There are Ion sets out there for the PS2/3 also.

And yes, manubo, the Ion works just fine with RB1.

Random question notworth starting a thread over... Is there an ION out/in-works for Wii? I've seen it on a few compatability charts for the Wii as "maybe" but just thought I'd ask.

It's not out yet, but Ion has stated that there definitely will be one. No release date has been announced yet.
