Rocband freezing after being way for 3~5 minutes

I'm playing on a launch 60GB PS3, and after being way for 3~5 minutes and coming back, the guitar/drums become unresponsive, or rather the game does. I can turn on the controllers, and use them to quite game, turn off the system/controller but can't ge the game to register and key presses.

I was wondering if anyone else has had that problem?

Also, I did do a search but couldn't find anything... please advise!

The PS3 has a sleep mode and I know the guitar controller has an auto shut off not sure about the drums. I have never had a problem bringing the PS3 out of sleep and all of my controllers work after pressing the PS button on them.
