I do not have Rock Band (or GH3), but the only reason that I don't is because I don't know most of the songs on the game or available as DLC. I listen to mostly hip-hop and R&B music (though I like cheesy 80's and 90's rock) and I understand that this game appeals to a different segment of people. But I love music based games, and was playing Parappa the Rappa, Beatmania, Bust a Groove, and Guitar Freaks before the genre hit US shores. Rock Band is a great addition to the genre, but I'm not inclined to spend $200 on it if I don't have appealing content.

I liked GH2, though the content was not that appealing for me there either. I really liked GH: Rocks the 80's, and would have bought it if it was released for X360 or the controller was compatible with PS3.

So, please EA, put some more pop-ish stuff as DLC. My wishlist of bands to be represented:

-Kool & the Gang
-Heart
-Chicago
-Def Leopard
-Poison
-Whitesnake
-They Might Be Giants
-Linkin Park (especially those mix-ups with Jay-Z)
-Evanescence
-The Federation (loved the song from Madden "Mayhem")
-Blink-182 (liked the song "Feelin' This")

ACK! Are you serious man? you would trade a bunch of great artists for a few more known but less talented ones?

honestly, open your musical horizons, and you will be VERY pleasantly surprised at what you will find. It's aggravating that so many people would turn away one of the best games there are simply because they 'don't know the songs'. hell, you're new favorite songs/bands could be in the game but you would never know because you were afraid of listening to something new and different.

get it, you won't be sorry.

and if you want to hear songs before you buy, there's always youtube.

but seriously get out there and start listening to some better music.

and heart is in GH2/3

which is why I'm not suggesting G-Unit or Wu-Tang. I'd just like some songs I can recognize. Again, I understand that Rock Band is not going to appeal to my hip-hop preference. That's why the cheesy 80's and 90's stuff (even the glam rock) would be appreciated.

In the end, I am a gamer, and am all about great games. But since I am older (one of those over-30 gamers), married, and have a busy work schedule, I don't have much time to play. I don't get to play a lot of great games that I am interested in (example: Call of Duty 4). In Rock Band, I see a great game that I can play with my wife, but am held back by the available content. And hey, $200 is not chump change.

All I am making the case for is more content. No trade-offs. More content is a good thing for a game, even if you don't buy it all. I'm just asking for something I can relate to.
