So i got my guitar from EA and I’ve started using it with no issues. Has anyone else gotten a guitar from the warranty and had issues yet?

Even on the 1/16th notes on Hard or Expert in "Go with the Flow"? Try that and get back to us.

Good point... I was just happy that it worked at all.

How many hours have you put on it and how many hours did it take to kill the old one? Also how does the replacement compare construction wise to the old model?

So is it too dropping the 1/16th notes? If so, I am pretty certain that my guitar is not defective and the software just needs patched.

It took about 5 hours to kill the old one for me. I'm about 8 hours into using this new one. I'll keep on it though. Also, in regards to the construction, to me, it feels and responds the same as the old one. Now if thats a good thing or a bad thing is something to be seen.

As far as the 1/16th note strumming, I haven't tried it yet, but I will asap.

Are you at work or school because if you are home, you have a job to do.

Now get off of this forum and test that guitar! :D

If they're sending out the models like some of us have (which work thankfully) then you should be fine... I haven't had any problems out of the guitar so far and I've started to get better at alt strumming as my fear of breaking the strum bar fades away. Don't worry for the people that have broken instruments =\ there are ones that work.

How long did it take you to get your guitar? I placed my order on Thanksgiving and was told on Monday 26th it would ship; it didn't. I called back on Tuesday the 27th, they said it would ship; it didn't. Today they're telling me it will ship today or tomorrow. Gimme a break.

So not only can I NOT play with 2 guitars, the one I have broke after 2 days and it's taking FOREVER to get a replacement!!!

OK i have an update. I went home on my lunch break, and the 1/16th note still seems to be an issues. I tried the alt strumming and it still doesn't work. even on the menu, strumming down very fast it will either lag the moving down, or not work at all. Sorry guys.

Also i sent in my request the night before thanksgiving and i got it yesterday, (tuesday)

That's what I suspected. This is mainly a software issue, and HMX needs to be vocal about it ASAP.

I just got 98% on Go With The Flow on expert with a 314 note streak, and the only reason I didn't get 100% was from my own stupid mistake of finger misplacement. So yeah, I think it's safe to say there ARE working strats out there, you guys just need to be patient. Don't believe me I can add a pic =\

I'm sure the concern here is that all replacements being sent out ARE the working Strats.

Just posted here because from what I've read in this thread everyone seems so confused.

I'm not sure what the trouble is that people are having with GWTF. Using either of my Strats (one of which has a non-working effects switch and won't activate overdrive), I can pretty much nail the song on expert using only down strums.

I use a pretty light tapping motion with the tip of my thumb on the strummer and it works really well. There are no notes in the game that are too fast for me to hit like this (assuming I don't mess up and get the timing wrong).

I haven't noticed any problems with 16th notes either, and I have a revision 1 guitar.

I should add that I -used- to have a problem hitting these notes when I first got the strat and tried to strum it exactly the same way as my GH2 xplorer. I find that if you use the motion I described in my last post and don't try to move the strummer all the way to its max downward position, it plays perfectly. Once I got the hang of it, hitting the fast notes actually became easier than with my xplorer.

I think what some people need to understand is that OUR GUITARS ARE BROKEN. They worked fine out of the box (for the most part), and THEN they stopped working correctly. We are not having a problem with strumming or getting the timing right on a new guitar. The strum bar is broken, and this is a hardware problem that has been shown by numerous people taking apart their guitars and showing exactly what is wrong with them. Please stop telling us that if we strum lightly with a pick all of our problems will be solved.

Actually, we weren't talking at all about when the down strumming stops working completely. A person with a brand new replacement guitar said he still couldn't hit certain notes, someone else concluded it must be a software issue since the new guitar was not broken, per se. Then some of us chimed in to add that we are able to play the song fine with our guitars, so it's not a software issue. THEN I added how I originally had the same problem, which turned out to be my playing style. I'm not gentle on my guitar for fear of breaking it, I happen to have found that playing it a certain way is easy and works perfectly.

Thanks for clearing that up. Even after getting over my fear of breaking my guitar i've been able to alt strum a lot better and I've put plenty of time into it. There are working guitars out there guys and you'll get one.

Let me just say that it could be that i'm just not hitting the notes right. I only had time to do a few songs a few times. But i noticed in the menu when i would try to strum quickly that it wouldn't move or it would lag when it moved. That again could just be because i'm ******ed.

I notice the same thing in the menus, but as I mentioned I can play fast notes without a problem.

Mine was DOA.
The guitar that came with it lasted for a day or so.
At least I have a GHII guitar.
When I strummed down in the menu and it continuously went down as if I was holding it, I lost all hope. Playing a song is impossible without the awkward up-strum.
Now I have two dead guitars. Do I send another replacement request right now or do they need the first guitar first?
Argh.

With the new strum bar you don't need to go allthe way up and down like the explorers. you can flick very quickly back and forth like you would a guitar string. I find it easier to alt strum the new model (though my downstrum works only 10% of the time) as opposed to the GH gweets. I had to power strum almost everything in GH.

That again could just be because i'm ******ed.I'm pretty sure the menus are just laggy. I don't think it's the guitar. For instance, in the XMB menus the guitar responds instantaneously. My only problem with the guitar is that Overdrive activates on it own.

I have received my guitar today and have been playing with it for the last 4 hours. I can certainaly tell that this one is just... well, different. It took about 8 hours for the old one to start screwing up royally but it wasn't ever completely right from the start. I don't know how to really explain it but it just didn't feel right.

I plugged in the old one to compare it against new one just to make sure I wasn't imagining things and most definately the old guitar is bad bad bad.

On the new guitar the strum bar has a much more confident feel to it. I can tell the notes I'm missing are truely my own mistakes and not issues with double strumming. Able to go long stints of fast notes now without missing. I have a good feeling that this one is going to definately last past the previous one and much much more.

My strat died after about 20 or so hours of play over about a 4 day period. I really hope my replacement is not going to do the same.

I have had no issues with my new guitar. 1/16th note strums work, unless I screw them up (Run to the Hills, anyone?). I'll be sure to let you know if I do have problems.

So let me guess...you ordered yours yesterday and they hand delivered it via stripper while they rest of us wait more than a week...

I actually used to have a REAL black and white Fender Strat so I was super excited to have the RockBand version. However, after only 8 days, while I was using the whammy I felt this *ping!* inside the guitar and now my whammy has no springy motion in it whatsoever. It just flops around all loose-like. Are you freaking kidding me?! I can't believe it only lasted a week. Now I have to jump through a bunch of hoops just to get it replaced.

How lame.

Look on the bright side! Order TODAY and receive it before the people that ordered LAST week!

Two thousand years of human knowledge about shipping procedures thrown out the window by EA! Way to recreate the wheel here!

This is making me feel that I should do a pre-emptive replacement guitar order before my original goes kaput. Sounds like they're building a better axe.

Can you just request a replacement guitar if your current guitar isn't defective? I mean if you send back your existing guitar and they find it to be non-defective, could they charge you?

I ask because I'm thinking the same thing on my guitar. I think my drum needs to be sent back anyways because that's truly broken.

I ordered my replacement guitar 2 hours after I got the game. On the 20th. Still no freaking replacement yet. So, I ordered a 2nd one. STILL NOTHING. Freaking EA blows monkey chunks.

The game is SOLID. The hardware is crap. CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, the mic seems to be pretty cool. Botched launch is all I can say. freaking botched.

Here are my guitar issues.
Wont strum down,
*Gets stuck strumming even though I am not even touching the strum bar.
*Fret notes get unpressed even though I am pressing them.
*The mic input for the headset is craped
*The solo frets (the ones near the base of the neck) do not work.
* The strap hold at the base of the guitar fell out! (the one by the crappy mic input)

EA you better buck up and get this jack fixed.

im in the same boat. i ordered teh day after thanksgiving. and i even called them again, and they said yes yes yes it ships today..blah blah blah. this was 3 days ago when i called for the second time, and i still dont have it. my mistake for thinking using my credit card would actually get it here in 2days like they said. they need to have a recall, because id hate to have a guitar i thought was good and after the warranty it goes out. im upset, let me vent.
