When selecting a song and wanting to bring up the "shortcut" category menu (e.g. quick jump straight to letter "Q") using drums, it says to hold down (pressing once jumps straight to the next letter).

My GHWT pedal does not do this. It works in every other instance, but not this. Pressing once does jump to the next category item, but holding it down does not bring up the menu.

That's because the GH:WT pedal does not act the same way as the RB pedal. The RB pedal sends a constant "Closed" signal when it's pushed down, and the GH:WT pedal does not, since it's not an Open/Closed switch like the RB pedal is.

That's normal and expected behavior.

Thought it was something along those lines. What's the alternative, is there a button equivalent on the control panel (using Xbox version)?

Nope, there's no button that does that same function. I have the same problem because I also use a piezo-based kick (Roland KD-8 with Kickbox). But it's just something you have to deal with not having :)
