View Full Version : RB2 drums on PS3 w/ Mad Catz Cymbals - disconnecting with GH:WT

I got the Mad Catz triple cymbal pack and attached them to my RB2 kit (for my PS3). I love 'em! (As people said, they are a bit noisy, but I plan on modifying them tomorrow with some official silencers.)

Just for kicks, I wanted to see the compatibility and popped in GH:WT. Whenever I hit the MC cymbals in GH:WT (using my RB2 kit), I get some disconnect error that my 4 pad controller disconnected. If I use the normal RB pads, I can play through a song, but as soon as I hit a Mad Catz cymbal more than once, I get the disconnect error.

Anyone else encounter this? Anyone know of a fix?

Thanks...

(NOTE: I tried doing a search for "cymbal disconnect" and didn't see any threads on this. Forgive me if someone has already posted about it... but if they have, please add a link if it's not too much to ask.)

i have experienced the same problem with my ion drums. the cymbals from both of these sets send a signal that GHWT fails to interpret. In order to fix this, Activision will need to release a patch, but I doubt it's a high priority for them.

for GHWT you need to just stick to the pads and forget the cymbals. which is why I rarely play GHWT and I'm considering getting rid of it.

Yeah, you're right. The peripherals for a competing company's kit is definitely not a high priority for them. Their number one priority should be to make a good game the next time around.

I was on the verge of selling my GH:WT on eBay yesterday but decided to hold off on it. There's still some good songs on there that I like to play the guitar parts for. It's not a total loss of a game. It's a real shame that I haven't played it in almost a month, though...
