Why cant we have both?

why cant we have songs that were previously in guitar hero games on rock band?

the way things are shaping up, it seems like all songs on guitar hero are out of the question for rock band. i dont know if they have already thought of this, but who hasnt wanted to all jam out to freebird? or people wanting to all play smoke on the water? i mean, there is a great library of songs on guitar hero, why cant some of them be incorporated into rock band?

the reason is because all/most of the songs on there are fun for guitar the other four would be really repetive and besides how many people do you think would pay $100+ to play two or three more different parts of a song.

especially your comment on free bird. it's good for guitar. drums and bass are extremely repetitive, and the singer doesn't sing for 3/4 of the song.

As much as I would love to play Crossroads in Rock Band, Id rather play something new like White Room.

White Room or Cocaine would be awesome, although i am not so sure they would want it because of the content.

But i do agree, unless it could actually be the real song from the real artists i'd rather have new songs then songs that were in Guitar Hero.

if they said they will rather than just having 1 song per artist, possibly having whole catalouges, im sure they could choose like 2 really good ones without people going crazy

Yeah if they didnt overdue it it wouldnt be so bad, but i have a feeling they wont and i also have a feeling most people would also not prefer it.

That is the best idea i have heard in this thread, although its sad to say that its very unlikely.

Also everyone, you have to consider the idea that those songs may be contracted exclusively for the Guitar Hero franchise. A loop hole though would probably be if the got the real band to come in and redo a song that was covered before.

I agree, I think we will see GH1 and 2 songs for DLC, I would LOVE to play the drum fills in Bad Reputation :)

I too would eventually like to see a few GH/GH2 songs for DLC at some stage. Mother on drums FTW! Maybe they can do a Poll in the future.
