I haven't had to do the warranty process yet for my instruments (knock wood), but I'm curious about what is actually charged. I've heard that they put a hold on your credit card until they receive the damaged instrument. Is there an additional charge for shipping? Also, does anyone know what they will charge you if the broken instrument gets lost or something and never gets back to them? Does it vary according to the type of instrument and/or console involved?

As long as they get your defective controller back within 28 days you are not charged for anything.

they never charge you. 100 dollars is held, and if your credit history is good, they will gladly give it back to you tomorrow if you would like. Shipping and return shipping are 100% free and if your package gets lost, as long as you have a tracking number which you should write down off of the return label, then ups has to pay full price for anything lost.

Good to know the shipping is free, thanks! So do they charge the full $100 they hold if they don't receive the broken part within 28 days, or is it a portion? Just wondering if anyone has asked the question to EA support.

supposedly it might be more. They are way over charging if its not returned. A foot pedal will charge 125 to my credit card if it isnt returned.... thats a huge fee for half of the drum kit. To avoid it, write down a ups shipping number, as of now, they dont care about the 28 days, as long as it gets back

i think they might have jacked the holding fee to $125. i requested a ps3 guitar replacement and it said it would place a hold of $125. it doesnt really bother me since im not actually going to shell out $125 for it. if anything it makes sense to have an inflated cost as a penalty for trying to beat the system and score a second guitar or kick pedal, or drumset, etc.

also, they posted a new announcement on the guitars. sounds good.

hmm maybe its just the ps3 one cause its wireless?? 100 dollars was too much as it is for someone to just get a second guitar.

and wheres this announcement???
