Just got my replacement drums in today....and they are the exact same model number as the ones i had before. The red and green drum pads are very loose compared to the yellow and blue ones. I tested the red one out though (which was my problem pad on the last one) and it works a lot better but im wondering how long it will last. Also the replacement drum sticks they sent are plain...no designs...no logo...nothing...lame. So when u get a replacement part does ur warranty start over for another 60 days or not? Because when this one inevitably craps out, seeing as how its the same model as the last, Ill be wanting another one.

when did you submit for replacements?

i had friends whos original box came with plain, undesigned drumsticks. I would just send the ones without the design back to them if you dont want them.. I think only early models of the game had the rock band labelled drumsets

when did you submit for replacements?

I have the same question. How many days did it take from when you submitted for a replacement to you actually getting them?

Well, I just got my replacement drums today to replace a 360 set that were having the "youtube" red drum issue (not registering faster rolls or all hits).

Guess what??? The new, replacement set is doing the EXACT same thing!!! In fact, it is a bit worse! Nice job EA!

In the "announcement" they didn't say anything about drums so they probably haven't done anything different with those :(

I'm sending my drums back for the same "youtube" red drum issue. This is not good news as the rep I called said the new drums would be reliable and should not have this same issue. Also, my guitar strum was broken out of the box and the drum foot petal broke in half last night through normal play.

At this point, it is safe to say a massive recall is in order and a complete redesign of the peripherals is needed.

I have the problem with the pads not working on fast notes as well. If my replacement kit doesn't work, I'm gonna be very upset.

So here is what I did...

I called EA cust service and made SURE I was kept ONshore. I got to a tier 3 tech or service rep and told him my story. What we ended up doing is send my new, defective drums back and the he opened a case for me notating that my warranty will be extended until there is confirmation on a fix for this specific issue at which time I will call back and reference my new case # and ask for a new replacement kit. In other words, I should be covered no matter how long it takes for new hardware to address this issue. I am fine with that since my old drum kit still plays fine for the most part until I have to do any sort of fast red drum actions. I can live with that at this point.

Mine were having the red drum pad issue as well and Im sure these will to. I guess I will be calling EA as well to get them to extend my warranty. I submitted the problem report on saturday and got them today.

What sucks for me is i actually cant even hit the drum pad fast enough to know if it doesn't register well or not :( By the time i get good enough to test it the warranty will be expired. I hope they do recall them so I can get a good one i'm not worried about busting down on me.

Is there anyone else at your house?
Give them something to hit the pad with. You don't need to be fast enough yourself.
Do it together.

According to the guy I talked to yesterday, they are going to extend the warranty. My new drums are doing the same thing, although this new set is way better. On my last set, random hits would miss completely on the red, yellow, and blue drums. Now only the red drum doesn't work and only durring fast parts. On my first set I couldn't even get through two measures of a basic beat without loosing my combo. I can actually get 100% on songs now. I have taped my red drum down in the meantime. It now works flawlessly. I feel I should not have to use tape on new drums. Hopefully they will get this issue figured out. I asked the guy how long I am covered and if my 60 days is from purchase or from when I received my new set. He said not to worry about that, and that if they crap out in 4 or 5 months to call them and they will take care of me. So I guess since this is such a widespread issue, they are treating it as a silent recall. Basically not making any official statements just yet. But anyone who calls with an issue will be taken care of.
